Asians and Hispanics have won the best director award, but no black man/woman hasn’t won the award :francis:
Let Hispanics be. They are the biggest moviegoers and have damn near zero visibility on screen unless playing villains, drug dealers or maids

Did you see THE FATHER?

Regardless, this is insane logic. Comparing performances, and art in general, is already pretty stupid...but this is another level lol.
thecoli.com yall. Claiming one actor's performance was better than another actor's performance, without even seeing the other actor's performance.

On the other hand, Black actors/actresses have won 19 oscars while Hispanic and Asian men/women have only won 8 acting oscars combined. And Black men/women have won Best Actor/Actress 5 times while the only hispanic/asian men and women who have ever won the award were ones who could pass as White.

The Father was a dope movie and Hopkins was amazing. But Chadwick was too and he deserved it. Nomadland is typical Oscar nonsense. Its an obviously well made film but its boring and Ive literally not heard anyone say a word about it other than the movie folks I follow and pay attention to. Doesn’t seem like actual regular people even care that it exists and I have no desire to ever see any part of it again
Yea Nomadland is one of those movies that you would have to been a film buff to actually hear of that movie it’s so low key
I consider myself a super film buff and I barely heard about it

NPR promoted the hell out of it though. :skip:

If I didn't play NPR when I was on the road I wouldn't know it existed.

Took a playbook from the Grammys
Award the minorities and hip films in the below the line categories, but the more traditional stuff will win the major awards
How are Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress "below the line" categories? Those are 3 of the biggest 6 awards that most people care about.

Heck, the 7th most prominent might be Best Animated Feature and that went to a film with black co-director/co-writer/co-stars too.

Also Jon Baptiste for his score for Soul the jazz parts

Hell, Benecio del Toro is an incredibly accomplished actor, but who has he played?

I didn't cherry-pick, those are literally the top 9 characters mentioned as his definitive roles on his wiki page and it doesn't even include when he played Pablo Escobar. :deadrose:
