He didnt answer the question...

If the city is 26% black, why is police force only 6%

How are black folks going to constantly scream Police are the opps, Black cops are sellouts and bootlickers, and in the same breath ask why there aren't more black police officers.:jbhmm: Cat's legit spend all their free time sh1tting on police and then straight faced ask why we aren't lining up for the job.

As someone that was raised by a black sheriff's deputy it's one of my pet peeves. It's hard to get well intentioned people to sign up to risk their life to protect a community that will instantly see you as the enemy. Also, that's not saying there aren't tons of power hungry a$$holes with badges, I know a LOT of them too, I'm just saying it's more nuanced than we ever allow in these discussions.

But this the coli, so whatever.:yeshrug:

Some of you are willing to vote for Biden over Harris because she was a prosecutor. :stopitslime:

Are black people not to become police officers, prosecutors, what about judges? What other occupations has the Coli determined if a black person has held, it makes them automatically not worthy of your vote?

That is true, we can't say that it is bad that the police force demographics is not being reflective of the city population in South Bend while saying it's bad to be a prosecutor. Can't have our cake and eat it too on this topic. I'm going to always err on the side that it is important to have people that look like us in the room that the decisions get made.

As I said in a previous post, representation is key. I'm in that room and since I make sure what I said is well grounded and nuanced, I get heard. That does not mean that I have carte blanche with decision making but I do affect change.

She has a record that should be examined.

Do people really love their health insurance like that? they make it sound like Bernie, etc are going to take away their dog
Just like there are those who are under and not insured who get hit by financial ruin from a big health event, there is a big segment who haven’t had any serious health events/need for care, have insurance and it works. I’m in that category, I go for an annual physical, maybe I’ll have a one off concern every two years that sends me to a specialist. But a $10 and $30 co pay and $20 for a 3-month supply of a prescription is affordable, I don’t have to wait to see doctors - it works. This is the experience of most, so it really is a hard sell to say we’re not even going to give you a choice to continue in this ecosystem, especially when longer waits and lower quality care are real, impacts/concerns of socialized medicine, especially in a country as big as the US

I’d like there to be a choice, and I’d like for insurance to not be a privilege/tied to employment. But I’m not behind ripping away a private option if people are willing to pay for it and are happy with it

My job switched to a different company last year. We didn't get polled or asked if we wanted to change, they just did it. Companies will do whatever saves them the most money.

We have wait times in the USA and in many cases more bureacracy than Canada.

The biggest problem in the USA is hospital monopolies price gouging, drug price gouging, 30M with no coverage, more underinsured and all the medical debt...

I talked to Congressman Andre Carson at a party a couple months ago and he was asking who the young people going for. And then he asked about Kamala. Told him what I thought of her and then he unprompted is like “you know people don’t really be seeing her as black, she’s got that problem”

I was like :leon: you said it bruh

This is exactly why why kamela s white husband is actually a problem for her. Obama was mixed but he brought out a stone cold black woman with him and 2 black kids, he was undeniable. Kamela can’t paint the same picture with her family :hubie:

But for millions there are no wait times, yall keep wanting to bring up one side without recognizing that health care is not an issue for millions of other. I have zero wait other than being subject to the schedule of my preferred doctor's availability - no different than waiting for a particular stylist or masseuse to have an appointment. Millions of people are happy with their insurance, and even with rising costs, have not experienced anything that's especially cost prohibitive.

How we administer health care and what we do to stop price gouging of hospitals, health tech and pharma companies can be separated. Creating a public option available to cover all doesn't have to come with not having a private option. I really don't get why folks just want to jump to one end of the spectrum without recognizing a large portion of americans are fine under the other end.

And while she's loopy, Marianne made a good point about why we're so sick, let's also make environment, work conditions, and food safer/better so that we're not faced with so much stress and chronic illness.

Yang trending on Twitter :beli: cmon breh you really think gon be nominated. Stop bytching move on to the next debate. Hope for a cabinet position and don’t burn your bridges with the other dem candidates

Yangs online following is huge so that is to be expected :yeshrug:

Also he’s running basically on his own path this race, His UBI and marriane with reparations are the only candidates with large ideas that are different. The rest of the dems are basically arguing semantics and who is too old or whatever.

Check your numbers b, forgive all debt is literally handing even more generational wealth to whites im good on that they get enough breaks.

If they wanna do it in a way where there’s a cut off at how much money your making then maybe.
a breh said at a panel discussion...
like in sports, you have all the top talent but not the teamwork, you not winning. Whatever amount of benefits/compensation Black folks get, you not winning without teamwork
in other words, it doesn't matter if other groups also benefits as long as we learn teamwork

Which is a concept that's already a problem despite knowing the game is rigged. So will "teamwork" be different if only Black folks get benefits/compensation? nah
