Dissapointed in the new Blake album tbh. I was hoping he would continue in the same direction as Retrograde with a more mass appealing sound. But besides a few tracks it's just not there.

I suppose OG Blake stans will appreciate the album, but the return to glitchy repetitive sounds is just not appealing to me sonically. Still moments of brilliance in most tracks, much like his first album. Just not sustained, oh well

I gave the James Blake album a 3.5/5, a little long on the length but it was a pretty decent album overall

That Kaytranada album was pretty average too 2.5/5, nothing much stood out besides the first half of the song with Anderson Paak

Not sure this thread cares about new stuff from old acts ... But the new Bob Mould (husker du, sugar) album, "patch the sky," is really good. He has a signature sound, and he sticks with it, so don't expect a lot of variance from his older stuff. As an old head, I find his consistency comforting.

I just caught his show at the metro in Chicago, and he's definitely still got it. I've been a fan for like 24 years, and this was the first time I've seen him live.

Man my backlog of albums to listen to was getting really long, so I hammered some out. Quick thoughts:

James Blake -- Good album, but very disappointing. Some amazing songs mixed with a lot of bleh

Kaytranada -- Pretty damn good. Nothing earth shattering, solid front to back

Chance the Rapper -- Damn good, but got damn man master your album

Radiohead -- Damn good. Not among their best work, but right up their with their 2nd tier stuff

Anohni -- Excellent. My 3rd album to get a 9/10 this year. 4 Degrees is the best song about global warming that will ever be made, and every song is good (except for the first 2 minutes of Obama which is unlistenable).
