SINY!!
Gave it a full listen today. I agree that his rapping isn't bad, however it reminds me a lot of the generic underground rappers of the 90's/00's in the sense that he is technically sound but does not possess the 'it' factor to make him great

The instrumentals are amazing. Any Tame Impala fan will instantly love them. I love the jazziness too.

Every song is good, but no songs are great

A solid album, can't wait to give it a few more spins.

its a good indication that he could get behind the boards and make something special with the right lyricists. You are right, this guys rapping isnt bad..but he does lack the it factor. Someone with the it factor on these instrumentals.....oh man that would be something.

Ready for that Parquet Courts album :blessed:

Saw them at the end of last year, one of the more memorable shows I've been to. What's y'alls favorite albums so far?

For me:

Porches - Pool
Junior Boys - Big Black Coat
Bowie - Blackstar
Iggy Pop - Post Pop Depression
Japanese Breakfast - Psychopomp
Tacocat - Lost Time
The Goon Sax - Up To Anything
B Boys - No Worry No Mind
Adult Books - Running From The Blows
Slingshot Dakota - Break
Bent Shapes - Wolves of Want

Plus I'm really looking forward to this Whitney album :wow:

Top 3 so far...
Malibu - Anderson .Paak
untitled unmastered. - Kendrick Lamar
Everything You've Come To Expect - The Last Shadow Puppets (still need to listen more)

Others...
Night Thoughts - Suede
Adore Life - Savages
Life of Pause - Wild Nothing
United Crushers - Polica

Need to give the Iggy Pop album more spins and properly get into the Parquet Courts album.

On again off again member of Animal Collective, Deakin, is about to finally release a long delayed promised debut album. It has leaked. Animal Collective's magic is seemingly gone, but he has definitely brought back that old spirit based on a quick sampling. Excited to give it a real listen.

This M83 is complete trash

good god its bad

M83 was very disappointing......I'm being kind too.....I gave the Deakin a listen, and couldn't really get into it. I'm still stuck on the Koi Child album....not sure what's on the horizon music-wise....but a little more then 3 months into 2016, and it's been meehh! IMO

A quarter of the way into 2016 and it's been a pretty lackluster year for music thus far.

My favorite albums of the year at this point...

KING - We Are King
Kanye West - The Life of Pablo
dvsn - Sept. 5th
Mayer Hawthorne - Man About Town
Gallant - Ology
Anderson .Paak - Malibu

If you want a place to start, Blonde on Blonde would seemingly make the most sense. Dylan probably created the genre, or at least heavily defined it around its origins
