People starve because food is too expensive. Cheaper food means more people eat. Hell we don't even have to look at other countries. In America the richest country in the world we have plenty of hungry kids.

Point em out.

The black belt region in Alabama is probably one of the most impoverished regions in the country, but aint no kids starving down there...

The worst case is they're just eating one square meal a day, but aint nobody starving

First off having one meal a day is the definition of starving. Starving is not about having a full belly. It's about consuming the proper vitamins and minerls needed for proper mental and physical development.

And secondly

Unfortunately, food insecurity is an obstacle that threatens that critical foundation. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.7 million children under 18 in the United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life.

kk first of all..oponents of this bill probably haven't even read the bill:

here's a summary of the bill

Genetically engineered crops are regulated. Once they get approved, farmers can grow them. However, if someone screws something up (like the environmental assessment), the approval can be revoked. This means farmers might be in the position of having crops that were legal when the planted them but illegal now. The thing everyone is up in arms about right now allows farmers to request that the USDA, if they deem it fit, to allow the planted crops to be grown as normal that season and not be destroyed until the GE crop in question can be officially cleared for cultivation again.

This thing isn’t to protect Monsanto, that’s just sensationalist nonsense, it is to protect farmers.

You know these cats didn't read the bill and just want to be outraged by something. Damn ya'll some scary nikkas, ol the world is coming to an end ass nikkas. Guess what people, you will be dead loooong before this world comes to an end. :beli:

My response to this would be, who is starving? Once we identify who is starving, I am certain we can point to an economic\political reason as to why they are starving as opposed to inefficient farming methods....

Come on breh, you better than this.

That's the arrogance of America right there....

starving present participle of starve (Verb)
Verb
1.(of a person or animal) Suffer severely or die from hunger.2.Cause (a person or animal) to suffer severely or die from hunger: "for a while she had considered starving herself".

You can take in 2000 calories in one meal. Will be mostly high glycemic carbs, but you'll be full.....

And feedingamerica is a borderline scam and is basically used to market products....

I'm serious bruh..I came up in a household that was 40% below the poverty line, and we ate 3 times a day. Easily.

Now, we may not have had meat all the time, and there were a lot of meals with neckbones, spam, pig ears & feet, cheap cubed steak, oxtails(they were real cheap back then) and so on, but we ate.

To starve is to have access to very little to NO sustenance, and I aint never seen a person starve to death in America.......Not even close

It's not about arrogance. Proper nutrition is an integral part of the development at any species. Kids who don't get proper nutrition never get a chance to develop into their full potential.

History tells us that societies who were able to provide enough food always developed faster than societies who were stuck searching for food. Sure the "hungry" societies were not dying out due to hunger, but they were at a severe disadvantage when it came social, and mental development.

I don't disagree with this. I just have never seen a kid that was hungry, not when I was coming up, and we were dirt poor.....and so were most of the surrounding areas...

Like I said its not the feeling of being hungry. You can eat cotton balls all day and never feel hungry. It's about nutrition, and I'm convinced nutrition or lack there of plays a big roll in the underachievement of poor kids.

The goverment is part of the issue, but it still comes down to supply and demand. More food=cheaper food and cheaper food=more people get to eat right.

This is a really good documentary about how government involvement fukked the local farming industry in Jamaica and it has happened here too. The government isn't concerned about more food so people can eat, they are concerned about the amount of profit they can gain from the large quantities of food.

Life and Debt (trailer) - YouTube Edit it's not the full version but I'm trying to find it.
