calm down there sir. The sky is not falling. Nobody is gonna monopolize food or kill crops. At worst another corporation gets some goverment money, at best some advancements can be made that will help feed the world. I agree with the shoving extra shyt into bills shyt but that's Washington for you.

Apple treas bear fruit for about 20-30 years if well maintained. They will live for longer than that but wont bear fruit.

That's an irrelevant point. Poor people can't afford the food that the restaurants throw out. It's not a case of extra food being produced, it's that it's more profitable to grow crops that wealthy people want. So those crops get grown and flown past the hungry people so the well off can waste it. Cheaper farming means more people will eat, it's that simple.
There's enough food right now to feed the world, probably twice over.
Restaurants throw food in the trash b/c they get a chargeback on it, rather than give it away to homeless people right outside the door. They'll have an auditor or some come make sure it's beign thrown away and not given away.
Nobody's in the govt is concerned about feeding anyone. If anything, the govt will use this to feed the people on welfare for cheaper...and possibly at a risky health cost.
