NY nikkas, why was North Bronx left out?

The South and West Bronx are more integral to the development of hip-hop and that’s where most Bronx rappers are from historically and up to modern day.

Northeast Bronx got history too though that’s where Funkmaster Flex and Slick Rick are from.

Yea flex from around my hood ….he used to have a vintage car store on Boston road and slick had or have a house in my hood for years

North bronx really had no one rap wise pop off in the 90s..

But from what I gathered, they def put on somewhat in the 80s

I think Strictly Roots was from The Valley. But they didn't gain traction.

I think those who mentioned it is very West Indian/Jamaican in the North BX. That's probably why.

Slick's crib was right there on 233rd near laconia. I remember hearing he caught his case on 225th and the plains.

at this thread like Swizz isn't from Allerton, Red Alert didn't go to Clinton, Kid Capri didn't go to Kennedy, or Flex didn't go to Truman.

One of the Heatmakerz is from Nereid. Graphs mom used to cop rocks on white plains Rd too.

Geter K (vp of mmg) was from 222nd and the plains. The last time I saw him, we were building in front of the store on carpenter and he was telling about how he was bout to get on a flight to Miami cuz his man's was about to sign to def jam and him and torch were getting out of the hood.

We have a lot of djs and producers uptown but there was too much beef between hoods for any rappers to blow up. The nicest dudes either got shot or locked up hustling for studio time.
