Scott was from Sedgewick in Morris Heights, KRS lived in a shelter after he came home from detention for a few months but had previously lived with his girl around Bronx when he became an arts student before that Bk. D-Nice is from originally from Harlem but moved to highbridge later on. Idk if people count that as south or west bronx?
Scott LaRock was also from Morrisania and that’s where KRS lived in the shelter on Franklin Ave by MLK Hospital and Scott LaRock worked at that shelter. For some reason they chose to name Scott LaRock street in Kingsbridge but they did the same with Pun putting his street on Fordham.

Yeah, D-Nice from Highbridge most the neighborhood in the 160’s and low 170’s on the West Side so it’s Southwest Bronx.

I seen Kool herc at valley day...I assume he from that area..

North bronx really had no one rap wise pop off in the 90s..

But from what I gathered, they def put on somewhat in the 80s
Nah, he from 1520 Sedgwick in the West Bronx…I think that’s University Heights.

He was probably with his yardies in the North Bronx.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
Kid n Play and Eric B are from nice middle class parts of Queens
East Elmhurst.
I know Caribbean people live there, but not sure if it qualifies as a Caribbean section

East Elmhurst was an African American area just like Hollis. These days East Elmhurst is very Hispanic but older African Americans still own those large houses you see by LaGuardia Airport. Northern BLVD by 102nd street was also sort of the hood.

Middle class Caribbean neighborhoods get no representation in NY hip hop. Same story in queens it’s all about south Jamaica, Hollis,

never in life have I seen someone yell I’m from Laurelton, Cambria Heights or Rosedale

:mjlol:

NY built its reputation on being dangerous, violent, and scary dudes on the block.

the Northeast section of the BX gets no live because Hip Hop originated in the South BX, and a lot of c00n brehs are brainwashed and suckered by Latina p*ssy. :yeshrug:

Its true. In the situation of the BX, Hip Hop started in the South BX and spread worldwide, but the quieter areas like the Northeast BX get written off as "middle of nowhere" or "too quiet"

Nobody writes it off.

North London
The South and West Bronx are more integral to the development of hip-hop and that’s where most Bronx rappers are from historically and up to modern day.

Northeast Bronx got history too though that’s where Funkmaster Flex and Slick Rick are from.

Slick Rick is from London

I think Strictly Roots was from The Valley. But they didn't gain traction.

I know an old school dude from the valley and he told me about the scene...they just didn't have the name recognition...

The valley/co-op city is like highbridge...it's is own world within the borough

The north Bronx does have it snobby folks tho. They def look at the south bronx sort of differently and then the fact that south Bronx is most ADOS, Puerto Rican and Dominican vs Jamaican up north. Hell yea!
