NXT vs AEW Ratings Thread

There are a couple things I want to criticize AEW for

1. Lucha Bros or Private Party should have won the tag titles. I like that it was used as a vehicle to get Scorpio over and shyt but Daniels and Kazarian suck now. Old guys trying to be 'cool' will never be fukking cool. Scorp needs to drop them.

And Lucha Bros. are a team that can crossover to mainstream, it should be a no brainer. Why did they lose to the Best Friends. AEW booking is trying to 'do right' by certain people but let's be honest, Best Friends are okay but they are jobbers in comparison to Lucha Bros.

2. Not enough Moxley and Omega. Their feud was good but they shouldn't lose to other people. They should be booked strong and I think Moxley should win the title next and Omega should go on the chase after him for redemption. Another no brainer.

3. It's time for the "match beyond" or War Games what have you.. they've gone long enough with the Elite and Inner Circle build. Time to blow if off.

4. Women's division sucks. They should have put someone in Sasha's ear and told her "blank check" because with her she is someone they could have built around.. let her wait out her contract and then debut her.. massive crossover appeal. Someone like her would have not only solidified the division but you know Bayley would have ended up making the jump too.

These are pretty much the only 2 wrestling shows I watch. I like AEW better but I don't realy give a fukk who wins the ratings. I want both of them to stick around because competition will make both of them better.

Anyone hoping that one or the other fails is a clown.

I just want AEW to stop pretending nothing is wrong. I want both shows to succeed as well

I personally think the win loss record idea is a stupid one, but I don't think that's the reason they're losing viewers. AEW doesn't have a very loyal fan base and that's something they're going to need to fix . NXT is under the WWE umbrella so they're going to always have a safety net under them, they don't have anything to worry about so I honestly don't think pitting them against each other is fair to AEW. For the most part I feel AEW was counting on drawing the disgruntled fans away from WWE, but failed to realize that WWE fans aren't necessarily wrestling fans and thus would have no interest in watching AEW. Overall, I think there are way to many cooks in the kitchen, if this is Tony khans company than he needs to get his ass to the forefront and run his company and stop letting Cody, Jericho, or whoever else do whatever the hell they want before they end up turning the show into a complete clusterfukk.

NXT got stumped out for damn near two months in the ratings, now NXT wins one week after advertising the entire roster and this past week during the holiday and now the world is apparently gonna end for AEW?

AEW has gone out of its way to make Kenny seem like less of a star. This dude was arguably the hottest guy in the industry for 2017-2018, gets his own promotion and they book him as a guy who would rather be wrestling in Japan and is in a slump losing every major match he's booked in because he's sad to have left New Japan, and regularly working the mid carder youtube show.

At least with the Bucks even when they've lost matches, it's been pretty much ignored and their matches got higher billing than the tag tournament and tag title matches and JR repeatedly said they were the true best team in the world even after they got eliminated and SCU won the belts.

Kenny has looked like a geek and it's probably going to come back to haunt them.

Competition can bring out the best and worst. AEW is trying to be derivative at the wrong time, just as WWE is as flexible about shaking things up as ever.

They've basically flipped from Week 4, after WWE put NXT heavily over the main roster at Survivor Series, and AEW has already written themselves into corner/void with Cody.

I personally think the win loss record idea is a stupid one, but I don't think that's the reason they're losing viewers. AEW doesn't have a very loyal fan base and that's something they're going to need to fix . NXT is under the WWE umbrella so they're going to always have a safety net under them, they don't have anything to worry about so I honestly don't think pitting them against each other is fair to AEW. For the most part I feel AEW was counting on drawing the disgruntled fans away from WWE, but failed to realize that WWE fans aren't necessarily wrestling fans and thus would have no interest in watching AEW. Overall, I think there are way to many cooks in the kitchen, if this is Tony khans company than he needs to get his ass to the forefront and run his company and stop letting Cody, Jericho, or whoever else do whatever the hell they want before they end up turning the show into a complete clusterfukk.

I believe Kenny himself said there were 5 people handling the women's division and they were going to do better with it...starting in 2020

Kenny only gives a shyt about the joshi girls, Brandi only gives a shyt about what she's involved with, someone desperately wants to fukk Britt Baker, and the other two must love tag matches. It definitely feels like a division handled by 5 people all with completely different ideas of what to do with it, which is baffling because AEW's women division is tiny and they've only consistently pushed 2 women for 10 weeks.

That’s pretty much the standard number of what Impact and the individual WWE brands have on their rosters (Raw, SD, NXT)

ROH I believe has the smallest women’s roster with like 9.... or now 8 girls since they fired Klein

I agree with these points. It’s smart for the Bucks to not book themselves on top, but you need atleast a suitable replacement and that was the Lucha Bros. SCU is cool, but for a brand new promotion out the gate, I wouldn’t have put the belts on them. If you wanna use it as a vehicle to push Scorpio Sky, they should’ve build him up as the star of the team and then give them the titles after the Lucha Bros had a strong run. Instead it feels like they gave them the tag belts to build him up, then immediately blew through making him a babyface contender before losing to Jericho. That's something that should’ve happened sometime next year, not last week.

The top guys aren’t always booked as top guys or treated like it and it’s starting to become an issue. The only people who have palpable momentum that carries week to week is Jericho and Moxley, everyone else is peaks and valleys. I said before how Darby Allin has had star making performances, but he’s inconsistently featured. Women and kids were visibly dressed as him in the audience, people are getting behind him. He doesn’t (and shouldn’t) have to perform every week, but atleast give him a vignette or promo to carry that momentum, and don’t job him out if you don’t need to. Identifiable stars carry brands, right now they’ve got Jericho and Moxley. They need to fix that.

And yeah I don’t really know what the endgame is with the Inner Circle/Elite stuff. It seemed like they’d be building to a clash, now everyone is already onto different feuds.
