1. Don't ever called dubstep 'dub'...the only people that call it dub are posers that were never there...it's literally a calling card for people who don't know wtf they're talking about
2. There's already a genre called dub...maybe you'll want to spend 5 mins googling jamaican music from decades ago...or a lee scratch perry or a the scientist
3. what you referring to as in the crap the likes of skrillex and rusko etc put out was coined brostep...and as an fyi brostep was always a term of mocking, and the idiots who listened to that sh'te actually took on the term and made it the legit way to describe that music

I used to work @ a club in LA. Moby was friends with one of the owners, I think back from their days in Jersey. Sometimes he would just stop in and get up on stage and jam with whoever was performing, from hip hop to jazz to punk to whatever.

Why wouldn't it be used at a blanket term? EDM is a genre of music with many different sub genres under it. Seems like alot of people have a problem with their particular brand of techno being grouped with another brand of techno.
