SMH @ people claiming the posthumous records shouldn't count to establish dominance. As if it's a given that one can put out multiple-platinum album after multiple-platinum album of mostly unheard music (except for GH) after someone dies at the age of 25. Even at 25, Pac left so much material that he has outsold most of the other legendary artists who sold well after their deaths. It's not at all a given that an artist will continue to sell well years after his death. It only happens to legends really.

People who want to diminish Pac's legacy as an artist claim that 1. Posthumous albums don't count as part of his catalogue of quality music and 2. They shouldn't count in terms of determining his success.

Well, how very convenient.. ..it's almost as if the whole posthumous run didn't happen and they might as well have not released the albums then. It's only because he died, clearly, that millions of people around the world felt somehow magically urged to go out and buy his records even though they were obviously being scammed because there was no music that is worthy of being discussed on there and they didn't really care for his music in the first place. Also, Pac doesn't deserve any credit for it because it was only natural that he had over a hundred unreleased songs recorded at the age of 25, I mean, what artist doesn't? That's their job, right?

:rudy:

Meanwhile, Pac's posthumous run is probably second to only Eminem's run in terms of domination of the charts. His posthumous records also contain arguably as many classic quality songs as other rappers' entire careers and if you count single cd's instead of albums Pac to this day still has released more music in terms of solo albums than Jay-z, Nas and just about every other rapper instead of maybe old school legends like KRS and Too $hort. And they've had the time to catch up for nearly 16 years now. Yet people want to give arguments now how Nas and Jay-z deserve the goat status more because they've been in the game longer and have a deeper catalogue somehow..

2Pac didn't dominate the industry though. 2Pac has turned into a mythical figure in recent years.

lol... He DOMINATED the industry. He was the talk of everything. All the time.

Like homie said, he went to jail and got out and released a double cd that was CRACK...

Steve A Smith a dikkrider...damn, if you ask politely Jay-Z might let you suck him off...you dikkrider. This nikka love Jay-Z more than Bey. :wtf:
Some people literally throw temper tantrums when they see someone showing appreciation fot Jay Z. It's hilarious.

TI is kind of talking out his ass a bit. 2Pac never really dominated the industry. He didn't become the most popular rapper until all of the controversy. For all of Pac's lyrical activism, it was the ignorant stuff that made him a superstar. Death made him a martyr. This isn't a diss to 2Pac it's just the reality of the situation. You can say that he's your favorite rapper but you can't say that he was the most dominant rapper without telling a lie.

Nobody has had a career like Jay-z from music to business dude is definently the goat imo. Pac had a alot of classics but he lived in the studio as well, great actor.. He accomplished alot in a short amount of time. His death put him in the class with Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix etc. But who knows if he would've done it as long as Jay have. Nas career has been amazing From Illmatic to LIG. But lets be honest he has released some music that made you. It has been proven that Nas makes his best music when his back is against the wall. I will say I think he's the best storyteller and very poetic. Nas has the ability to paint pictures like no other.. BIG has 2 classic albums his voice pressence, and flow was like none other. But like Pac his untimely death stops him from being the goat. Would he have been able to change with the times can make classics like Nas and Jay? honorable mention Common and Scarface.

Hov is a vampire. I give him credit for being strategic more than I give him credit for his skill and contribution to the culture. Hov is just a more talented version of Puffy.

He ducked rap battles and lost the only 1 he participated in.
West Coast, DMX, Lox, Dipset and Nas.

He stole Young Chris' style before Young Chris could come out. This nikka just played 'the game' better and left a bunch of drained artist and friends that he stabbed in the back in his wake. wow

Pac created all his post work during his deathrow era.. The people that buy his music are his diehard fans NOT regular consumers. He had a strong fanbase even back then so when he died his fanbase grew bigger. But he didn't make music past the year of 1996. Theres songs out there with people he never meet I don't think Pac would've recorded with alot of these people. Thing is would he be able to change with time. Basically people just buy his music because they are die hard fans, collectors, etc. We don't know how he would've sounded during the bling era, or punchline era, I mean he and Lil Wayne are soo similiar. I bet Lil Wayne has thousands of songs we'll never hear because they live in the studio.

You can say Pac the best because of his music he never really took over rap when u think about it when he was alive.

That would be Eminem with his albums selling nearly 2 million in one week.
