Made man isn’t trash it just isn’t as good as his other releases. There is still some heat on it

Made Man was such a bad album. I re-listened to it s couple weeks ago and it was as terrible as I remembered. It had none of the appeal that Charge It To Da Game had

I wonder what was the thought process behind that album, that album had a few cuts, don't get me wrong, but overall, the direction of it was all over the place

You hit the nail on the head. Total chaos basically. One second he's a mafia boss, the next he's wishy-washy simpin' for some p*ssy on some beatboxin' shyt, now some super-radio-friendly Mya feature, hooks up with Jay Z for a song about nothing, shows his sensitive side on a couple of mega-soft songs (Ghetto Rain, End Of The Road, It's Goin' Around), suddenly he wants to party up on a westcoast beat...DJ Wop and Whole Records gave him some mediocre beats, BBTP (KL, Craig n Mo B) gave him their leftovers, Sons Of Funk's shyt was meh. Only Carlos and O'Dell stepped up (like in most of 1999)

:russ:

I literally, breh, literally said this when I heard that song back in 99, I was like man, wtf was this and what is the end goal of it. :mjlol: I literally till this day, say the bolded

The production was ass for me, and Silk for some odd reason, got BBTP high quality production.

:mjlol:Jay prolly didn't give a shyt, just wanted his name out there and grow his southern fanbase (see also Ha RMX)

Silkk got BBTP's hottest beats for his first 2 albums. I bet P wasn't happy with Made Man's beats

Shid P at that point didn't care as long as the album had a release date attached to it :russ:

You can tell them nikkas BBTP was getting lazy, they took the old beat off "The Shocker" and gave that shyt to Jay-z :mjlol:, maybe added a different drum kick, added a hi-hat maybe.

In all honesty, Charge It 2 Da Game was all over the place too, but the songs were far better. It went unnoticed and didn't matter because the songs were THAT good.

Serv not only started rappin fast, but he thought spelling everything out made it better. Then he made it a point that he liked to spell it out.
When he switched his flow though :scust:
Dude was head to head with silkk for worst rapper on the label, while silkk had the stroke & tourette flow, serv was just talkin really fast without paying attention to the beat

crazy thing about it, he was actually a good rapper

Yeah I liked the PS, Gambinos, Ghetto Commission and Steady Mobb'n albums that came out within two months! Bust Back, Tweekin (Uzi solo, he was their best spitter, Gotti was Gambino's best one, Holloway for GCs, Crooked Eye for SM) and Liquidation Of The Ghetto (way underrated) were my faves

Kinda, I mean CI2DG didn't have mega soft songs (last cut, tribute to Kevin Miller, was excellent), alot of hard shyt (We Can Dance, Throw Yo Hood Up, I'm A Soldier), alot of opulent mafioso sounding stuff (Who Can I Trust, Give Me The World, How Many, Mama Always Told Me) and a couple of hoe cuts, twas a well-done and nicely balanced album imo
