When he switched his flow though :scust:
Dude was head to head with silkk for worst rapper on the label, while silkk had the stroke & tourette flow, serv was just talkin really fast without paying attention to the beat

There’s a recent Serv interview where he actually addresses being offbeat. He pretty much said somebody told him to spit, and he was just rapping really fast like current Eminem or something, and the dude he spit to told him he can rap his ass off but knew nothing about actual bar setup and placement, and Serv said that confused the hell out of him :russ:

Kinda, I mean CI2DG didn't have mega soft songs (last cut, tribute to Kevin Miller, was excellent), alot of hard shyt (We Can Dance, Throw Yo Hood Up, I'm A Soldier), alot of opulent mafioso sounding stuff (Who Can I Trust, Give Me The World, How Many, Mama Always Told Me) and a couple of hoe cuts, twas a well-done and nicely balanced album imo

Yeah, but listening to the first 9-10 songs, the order is all over the place. There's no real flow:

1. I'm A Soldier- rowdy, soldier posse cut

2. Give Me The World- mafiosos joint

3. Throw Your Hood Up- another rowdy joint

4. Just Be Straight With Me- kind of keeps the pace from the previous song despite the Destiny's Child feature

5. If I Don't Gotta- dope introspective joint that slows things down a bit, but is out of place

6. Spotaggin- pointless interlude

7. We Can Dance

8. Mama Always Told- now if this transitioned from "Just Be Straight" into "If I Don't Gotta", it would make more sense.

9. You Ain't Gotta Lie To Kick It- should be before or after "We Can Dance".

10. Thug N Me- changes pace of the album

Personally, I would've put "It Ain't My Fault" and "Let Me Hit It" earlier in the album. "Give Me The World" and "Who Can I Trust" should be closer together. "Who I Be" should be earlier too. "How Many" should've been the last song. Perfect closer in my opinion.

I will never understand why dude changed his style to rap like that

sad thing Is both of these nyggas were cool in the beginning

Bay Area Silk was cool
Life Insurance Serv On was cool

then I saw him rapping all fast in that video with big pun and was like wtf Is this?

I wish C-Murder wasn't in the street as much during NL's heyday :mjcry: aside the fact he would be free, he was the best spitter out of the miller brothers, and had a lot of good ideas too (Magic, Q.B., Kenoe) and he would've been featured on ICM and Ghetto D more.

He would’ve had Curren$y too. Dude had a strong lineup for TRU Records.

Mark In Da Dark (also ghost-produced different stuff under alias MP, just like K-Lou, for Da Last Don, Bossalinie and other albums throughout 98/99) had some real heat, he produced the original Wobble Wobble on Thuggin' and P took that shyt, let C-Los change the beat (included the triggerman sample) and made it a hit in 2000 for da 504 Boyz. MIDD (D'Andrea) sued him for basically stealing his shyt, after Wobble Wobble blew up
