Didn't even realize the Yuzu team is also responsible for Citra. They taking that down as well. Unlike Ryujinx I believe Citra is the ONLY 3ds emulator available.

Yuzu probably thought the only person Nintendo was going after during the TOTK rollout was the Artbook leaker.

Tropic Haze was gonna spend at least $2.4 million just to fight this in court. Nintendo would have leaned in hard on their Patreon account, so they just cut their losses. This is much better than Tropic Haze losing in court, essentially killing the entire emulation scene in one failed swoop. Other emulation devs can continue to work until they themselves get sued.
Next, Nintendo will announce Switch 2 and talk about how amazingly it can emulate older Nintendo Games, while Nintendo Simps lap it up.

Stuff like this is interesting to me and I use Yuzu alot cause I play HDR on my PC (Smash ultimate mod) so i def wanted to know what's the outcome of all of this. Digging into the discord/reddit/twitter came across alot of stuff.
Seems other emulator teams been were warning Yuzu they were getting to big headed. Supposedly a ex yuzu dev has been releasing the pay wall pateron builds for free under "Pineapple Yuzu" because he never agreed that Yuzu should be behind a paywall
It is. Which is why at the end of the day nothing really changes for the end user. Just a wake up call to anyone tryna make a profit off emulation. I fully expect both Citra and Yuzu to be rebranded and continue development.

Damn, so I wasn't in with Yuzu's community or anything but they were wild with the G Drive stash and ToTK specific code prior to launch. Legit thought it was a normal emu project but they went a little too hard. 
This was probably also triggered on Nintendo's end with Yuzu being quite peformant on the high end handhelds despite Switch being the current platform.
Guess Yuzu peeps were also using Patreon as a tiering system for money and not just development costs, too?
At the very least they were smart enough to settle. Now, there's still the Sony rulings for clean projects to ensure they can live.
