NFL WR’s who were great in their prime, that are afterthoughts in 2020.

It really illustrates how lack of media attention matters. He and Marvin Harrison had long stretches of dominance and rarely get mentioned.

Andre Johnson didn't have the big TD numbers, but he had TRASH QB's and was on some terrible teams during his peak/prime. I still remember when during one of my fantasy football seasons, I had Andre Johnson as my sleeper and he went off.:wow:.

When people look back, they will use names as Megatron, Julio, Fitzgerald, OBJ, Antonio Brown, Hokpkins, Thomas, etc. as the top WR's.

Sure, there is an argument for all of them over Andre Johnson, but I don't think you'll immediately see people mentioning Andre Johnson in those conversations right away, but I could be wrong.:manny:.

Most definitely. He was young too. Never undersood how he couldnt parlay that performance into a standout career. Its the NFL, though. Its filled with one year wonders throughout history. Hey when you draft Curtis Enis and Cade McNown in the first round in back to back years...what can you do?? That 01 season was magical but how far can you go with Jim Miller, seriously?? The fact that they didnt get a Superbowl victory out of that core defense, disappoints me til this day. Couldve beat the Colts. Stopped running with Thomas Jones for your roration and that coverage breakdown on that Wayne td.
Man, a young mr. smoke weed's heart was broken that 2001 year. :heh:

Then they got me in 2005 :mjlol: then they got me again in 2018 or whatever two years ago :mjcry: Being a bears fan is tough

Yeah it is..dont.forget 2010. Allowing GB to sneak in as the 6th seed and then losing the NFC Championship at home to the same team despite a dominant defensive effort that went to waste.

I always liked Peter Warrick too.. I know he wasn't "great" at the NFL level but man he was electrifying at FSU

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
I will never forget that Marcus Robinson year. He was out there snagging on any and everybody. Making Cade McCown seem.somewhat passable. Then like you said he disappeared until I think Baltimore where he became somewhat relevant again. Crowell looked like a budding star...then, vamoose. Its alot of one hit wonders in football. That would make one hell of a thread.
Damn this nikka here is the epitome of this thread cuz I don’t remember him at all and he was nice for a couple seasons :mjtf: :mjlol:

Marvin Harrison is not an afterthought.:russ:.

A lot of very good WR's that aren't afterthoughts being mentioned in here.

I'd say the best name I've seen in here is Sterling Sharpe. Absolutely ELITE when he played, but you almost never hear his name mentioned. He should be in the HOF, and it's a damn shame he is not.

I didnt say that about Marvin. I stated that he along with Andre Johnson dont get nearly as much praise as their contemporaries. They dont. How could Sterling Sharpe be your answer when his.brother has a daily platform and keeps his brothers name alive with constant mentions and dedicated a huge chunk of his HOF speech to his brother?

@BucciMane I think Rod Smith is more appilcable to this thread than most. He played for a marquee franchise, won 2 Superbowls(including the gamebreaking play in the 2nd one) was a multi time probowler and All Pro but rarely gets brought up at all. He was productive with Elway, Griese and Plummer.
