I think were throwing around that word "great" a lil loosely here.

And were including back to back 1000 yard seasons as "Prime" years....

Was it harder? Of course. But ths notion that only the best of the best is bs. Johnnie Morton, Marcus Robinson, Ed Macaffrey, Patrick Jeffers, Wayne Chrebet, Sean Dawkins( may be wrong, going off memory), Qadry Ismail, Derrick Alexander, Mark Carrier, Michael Westbrook, Albert Connell..etc these guys were the very best? Come on now..

Great job compiling outliers. They exist. However, we both know the passing game is easier now. QBs throwing for 4000 yards in the past was rare. Nowadays if you can't get to 4000 its a problem.

Same shyt has happened for receivers. The game is easier. The numbers are inflated. The talent has decreased.

I never said it wasnt easier. But youre acting like 1000 yds was rare in the 90s and 2000s is flat out wrong. It was not the 70s. WRs were putting in work.during those times. Sterling Sharpe put up 18 tds in 1994. Mike Irvin put up 1500 yards in 1991playing for a run based offense in the toughest division in football. Yet you making it seem like dudes was leading the league with 85 rec for 1100 yds every year.

Those two times 1000. :wow:
:salute: to my SC Gamecock Sidney Rice.

I thought about those two, mainly ****, although most real fans know . But casuals probably don’t even remember them, especially ****.

**** is STILL lobbying to get in the Hall. And that’s messed up .

Feel like he’s already becoming forgotten . In this pass happy age, WRs are gonna have to be extra exceptional to be remembered by casuals.

I feel like post people who caught a glimpse of Shannon know he coulda been the GOAT and they keep his name alive . It’s those who weren’t exposed to him ...

:salute: my legendary SC Gamecock, Shannon :wow:

Sterling?
