What they are going to do is obvious and shouldn't/won't be controversial at all.

You ride it out with Darnold as long as you can even if it means McCarthy remaining on the bench for longer. Give him a Geno/Baker type deal that they can move on from a couple of years down the line if he regresses considerably.

No need to rush to trot McCarthy out there. No way in hell should they let Darnold leave the building.

You say it like it's obvious, but the Falcons got roasted for trying to have a 2nd QB in the wings and the Packers catch hell from their older QB every time they do it.

Not a lot of team would do what you're saying. I'm not even saying you're wrong. I just think it'll be entertaining to watch them hem and haw about it. Kirk Cousins is the most passive person of all time and he was salty watching them draft Penix.......plus the extra bonus is I'm not sure Darnold doesn't come crashing back down to Earth. We saw it happen to Nick Foles before.

1. Probably the worst sunday of NFL Games ever

2. KC will beat whoever between Houston, Pittsburgh

3. Can’t wait for that Ravens vs Bills matchup

4. Besides the Jets , Bears and saints who looking for coaches. Cleveland, Arizona, Cincinnati, Dallas, Jacksonville, Tennessee all need to change coaches

It's not even close to being the same situation, so I don't know why you're bringing up those teams to make your point.

Of course the Falcons got roasted for the Penix move because they gave Cousins $100+ million dollars and people thought that they should have used that pick to build around him. You don't sign a QB for that type of money and then draft his replacement in the top 10 as that's asking for a QB controversy. Cousins literally got benched because he regressed as the season went on. We wouldn't be having this discussion and he'd still be the starter if that wasn't the case.

If Darnold comes crashing back down to earth, then that's totally fine. That's why I said you give him the Geno/Baker 1-2 fully guaranteed deal and see how it goes. Worst case, you can always bench him for McCarthy as you don't have to be in a rush to play him.

Cleveland needs a QB badly. They need a Left Tackle and an offensive line coach as well. Watson is COOKED. If Cleveland can draft a QB and take a flyer on Cousins a year removed from his Achilles injury they might be onto something.

Jalen Hurts is a criminal

That’s 1 more than AP and 2 more than dikkersons 2000 seasons though :sas2:

It is wild that Hurts got like 12 TDs but considering Barkleys injuries, a bunch of 300 pounders crushing him might not be the smartest “load management”

Miami held on and got a sorry Jets team left to play. Assuming Tua plays they should win that.

Bengals have to beat the Steelers on top of hoping Wentz beats the Broncos and Rodgers beats the Dolphins.

Well, next episode of Hard Knocks should be good though.

They had plans for McCarthy to be their QB until he got injured. It's a very similar situation where they have 2 QBs to be actually concerned about. Geno's situation didn't have the Seahawks draft a top 10 QB draft pick to be concerned they just had Drew Lock to be concerned about. The Bucs didn't have any other QBs to be concerned about either when they offered Baker his contract.

McCarthy's people ain't going to be happy to just have him sit there and wait for him to play IF Darnold fukks up.....and keeping them both creates a looking over the shoulder situation IF Darnold fukks up. They can't keep both and have everyone be cool about it. The 49ers tried it with Trey and Jimmy G and it blew up......then later with Trey and Purdy then it blew up.

The Vikings could franchise Darnold and run it back, they don't have to commit long-term,

but you wonder if a part of them thinks if they could get good QB play from Cousins, then Darnold, They could get a cheaper option or keep McCarthy instead of paying a premium
