You can ignore the idea of a QB having two viable QB candidates all you want, but there is a documented history of both teams and fandoms imploding because a team has multiple QB options and that's why it'll be entertaining. There's team dynamics. There's fan dynamics. There's media games to consider. ....PLUS Darnold is playing at a high level for the first time in his 7 year career. That ain't enough evidence for anyone to decide he's THE QB as definitively as you're making it out to be. Internally, they could just as easily feel that McCarthy could be doing the same thing with that roster of skill positions players.

Yes, their GM is one of the best in the league. I expect them to sign Sam to a Baker/Geno kinda contract and get another first for JJ. One of these trash teams will give up at least one first for JJ: Giants, Raiders, Titans, Browns, Jets and Saints.

I could see the Colts in the mix too unless they're rolling the dice with Richardson one more year.
