The next innovative franchise is going to be the one who has the balls to let an overrated QB go after their rookie contract and continue replacing these QBs while capitalizing on the most valuable asset in football (a QB on a rookie contract) which allows you to spend capital at other positions.
If a QB was that replaceable it wouldn’t be as important, because if you get that QB wrong, you don’t get to choose anymore cuz you’ll get fired.
I’m surprised that more teams didn’t make a run at Jacoby Brissett years ago while he was still with the Patriots. I remember Bill Parcells raving about him and his ability before he got drafted.

For the same reason why there are people who still downplay Brady’s success.

Yea, I didn't think Dwayne Haskins would play as poorly as he has. He has all the talent in the world on paper, but he doesn't process at NFL speed (yet), he has some work to do. Either way Washington isn't a good team so they should keep him out there and have him get some experience.

The Pats and Chiefs seem almost a forgone conclusion tn the AFC Championship.

The Lions defense is legit but it may be time to move on from Matt Stafford. His lack of accuracy cost the Lions a win, imo.

Giants may have some hope if Daniel Jones keeps playing like this and the defense is starting to gel.

When can Minnesota get out of Kirk Cousins contract without messing up their cap to badly?

Jameis Winston needs to visualize his game against the Rams, he played a near perfect game

Rams are not winning the NFC West, imo, the Seahawks and 49ers are better teams.

The New Orleans Saints are a tough gritty team, Teddy Brigewater might be the heir apparent, he doesn't have Drew Brees arm but he is a professional QB and I think he carry the torch.

Fumbles and Mahomes cost the Lions a win.

If you have the lead with a minute left the QB did it's job despite the fact that his offense kept fumbling the ball, including giving up a 99 yard TD run in which they were at the 1 about to score.

I think he left a couple of throws out there but I can't disagree with that. The entire offense was sloppy at points.

Truth. We have still yet to see a franchise win a SB with a QB on one of these "Gotta Have a QB/Bu...bu...but who you gonna replace him with?" contracts. It's always either a guy on a rookie deal, old ass underpaid nikka, or random fluky hot streaks by guys that aren't considered elite. Yet teams keep passing them out and when they either fall off or stay subpar/average it's everyone but the QBs fault. It's much easier to throw all the money at a QB and sell hope year after year than it is to fill out an entire thorough roster year after year.

Honestly this. It's why all teams have a shot within that time range. Once it ends, your QB actually has to be good or else the contract will suck. The old way was much better. QBs with 70 million dollar contracts. Nowadays, QB are a low risk, high reward netsum

Old way was worse because you were paying these dudes these ridiculous salaries out the gate before they did anything. You were basically starting off were teams usually end up around year 4 without the benefit of the first few years to see how good they actually are or win what you could with them the cheap.

If a QB was that replaceable it wouldn’t be as important, because if you get that QB wrong, you don’t get to choose anymore cuz you’ll get fired.

That is lazy GM/QB agent game. They have managed to make it about having a QB, rather than actually winning (the implied purpose of having a QB). QBs get replaced all the time and teams either hold serve or actually improve. Brady himself was a replacement...for a #1 pick mind you.

Our Gold Gang finna win the NFC West ....we byke:mjgrin49ers:

Minny shoulda kept Keenum. And they got next year with Cousins before he's off the books. :francis:

Jameis and Kangol Bruce doing good man. Why Jameis not considered a gun slinger like "others" :mjpls: . Bowles was a GREAT hire as DC too

I'd want to play for Andy Reid or one of his disciples if I'm a QB.

Brady is an awful example considering he’s the ultimate outlier. That’s a once in a lifetime scenario, not a strategy to apply. There are GM’s and scouts who believe a QB should be taken every year. Those people are either A) unemployed because they don’t have anything to show for it or B) Bill Belichick because he’s gone nearly two decades without having to worry about his starter, which is why he’s able to do so well developing them.

Selling hope = drafting a QB because drafting your QB is almost always how you can win a Super Bowl. Winning requires more than that, but QB’s now don’t slip through the cracks the way they used to. Now teams tank for them. The last thing you want is a team ready to win a SB but you can’t because the QB you need isn’t attainable. Look at the last 20 years or so and you really need a HOF QB to win and now those guys aren’t in the late rounds anymore. Those QB’s are projects who won’t have the time to show what they can do, not guys who were slept on.

1.. Saints defense is legit

2. New England and Kansas City is on another cloud compared to the rest of the afc

3. Denver, Washington, Miami, Arizona, Jets, Falcons, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati fans all can start thinking about 2020 draft

4. Jay Gruden should be fired by Monday afternoon

5. Love how Arizona fired Steve Wilks after 1 year for the pretty boy and they still have the same results... I still wish the worst for them, using the brother as a token

:whoa: (and I am a Saints fan)
