Yall really think Manziel was worth taking? Romo and Him in the same locker room? Yall thought T.O. or Dez Bryants little spouts got negative coverage, the minute Romo had a bad game media would be calling for a Johnny to be put in. It would be a Tebow situation waiting to happen.

A bad game?

Sheeeeeet.....every time Romo throws a pick they would have said "Manziel"?

Hell, the media will STILL be saying that this season and we didn't even pick him :heh:

gun slinging 20 year old > gun slinging 34 year old with 2 play off apperances and 1 victory in nearly a decade

at least with manziel, you have the HOPE that things will be different. We already improved our o line last year with frederick and waters for what little time he was in and yet we still went 8 and 8. Maybe it's time we start changing some of the only constant elements on the team... what next, time to fire the water boy to make the team more romo friendly?
Do you think maybe being last in the NFL in total defense was a factor in those 8-8 seasons? :sas1:

How are we still in position to win games with a defense that shytty? :sas2:

A guy who has taken 0 NFL snaps is better than Romo, now? Romo gets knocked out of the game, and you're comfortable handing the reins to a gun-slinging rookie. Wow.
These niggga play too much Madden. There's at LEAST 5 QBs in THIS YEARS draft I'd rather develop behind Romo than Manziel.

It's this type of thinking that landed y'all with nobody for several years after Aikman went out.

Testaverde, Brad Johnson, Aaron Brooks, Bledsoe, who else? only dude decent was Quincy Carter.

Romo was complete luck and that luck is running out.
No. It was trading 2 first rounders for Joey Galloway, drafting Antonio Bryant, Dwayne Goodrich, Quincy Carter, Ebenezer Ekuban, Marcus Spears, Barbie Carpenter, and various other dikkhead GM moves that lead us to the dark years.

so that's why we go o line and build around a 34 year old qb right, instead of either drafting on defense or actually getting a young qb who we actually have time to build around

Saying we should have gone defense is a valid criticism. Saying we should have picked Manziel is not.

Manziel could easily be a bust, size isnt in his favor. plus there is little chance Manziel is better than Romo next year or the year after. we have great offensive chemistry and just gave a good qb good money. no need to grab a QB if there is still great value out there. we basically drafted a starter with Martin, Manziel a 2 year project w us

You pick manziel because you can actually BUILD around him, being that he's a new QB and has time to develop. So we wait 2 to 3 years for the defense to be built up, and guess what, Romo is nearing 40. We expect a nearly 40 year old qb who uses his legs to improvise to take us to the promised land?

Can't argue with most of that, but when your QB is nearing 35(unless his name is Peyton on Tom), you NEED to have a QB in waiting.

And even the Pats and Broncs have their YOUNG QB's in waiting

My dude if he had a cyst on his shine/spinal cord he would be out for a year... Relax and watch us cook :camby:

Really breh?

The Cowboys insist that this surgery is unrelated to last spring’s “cyst removal’’ that was performed on May 22 and kept Romo from practicing with the team until July 22. But in fact, sources say that operation was “spine-involved’’ as well (likely a partial discectomy to remove disc pressure on a nerve). And this week, team sources tell me that while Romo’s back problem only flared up in the Washington game – causing him to have to return home on the team plane laying down flat across two seats – he did on a weekly basis undergo Monday treatments for his back, as at least a preventative measure.

And it's kind of hard to relax when you know about huge spoilers of a movie that you've been anticipating, 4 months in advance. I've been waiting for this franchise to cook something worthwhile for a hot minute and I know I'm not eating this season.

He COULD be a bust, but then again he might not be. We have a known factor with Romo. What have we gotten other than one appearance in the second round of the playoffs with him?

Great pick. He was definitely BPA. Now we take Murray in the 4th and develop him behind Romo for the next 3 years. Plus a lot of defensive linemen will be there tomorrow. Easley, hagemen, jernigan, ealy, and tuitt
