nostalgia is a fascinating phenomenon. I remember back in the early-mid 90s me and my dudes used to hate on everything from the 80s. It was all played out, the clothes and hairstyles looked stupid. We used to always change the channel when Yo! or Rap City played the 80s joints. and that was an era that we came up in. Nowadays.....thinkin bout the 80s and watching some of these vids gets a nikka teary eyed.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
One thing I’m jealous of not being from NYC. Y’all got so much culture documented.

It’s so hard to find footage of my city. It’s like from 1985-2000 Detroit didn’t exist :wow:

I have this same issue with DC. It’s anazing how some of the blackest cities DC or Detroit do not have many old school shots.

I was actually interested in Detroit old school photos after hearing how thriving it was!

In 1956? Segregation was alive and well, so probably divided entrances and exhibits....

Fukked up if you think about, cacs probably were involved with lynching parties then take their kids to Disney.....

There were no blacks in the video, and that should say everything. The only minorities were the Native Americans that were there to perform....Crazy how this country was and still is.
