Architecture greatness has actual guidelines and Chicago ranks the highest for US cities. The designers alone is a whos who of architecturial elite. The artistic freedom, meaning you can build anything next to everything without violating dumb city codes, is another reason. After the fire, Chicago was built to impress, unlike most cities that build from the need to grow.

But right now nyc is building more skyscrapers than in any point in the city's history. They gon have to re-evaluate that

In terms of residential architecture, NYC has always been better to me because of all the brownstones, limestones, Beaux Arts, Art-Deco, etc.

Dope. The Harlem Brownstones look more dope to me. I like them even more when they’re 3-4 stories tall.
