Yeah but they were lazy with a lot of stuff I think since it got such high reviews I expected more . I'm pretty lax on horror movies but between this and the witch The critics :camby:
The witch jeeeeeeeeeezusssssssss christ.

I've tried to watch that movie 3 times and can't get out of the first 15 minutes because of that annoying ass music

Lol i still say your crusade against critics is moot breh and going to get you nowhere. They've got their opinions just like yours. Sometimes you'll agree sometimes you won't. I loved the witch, still do but I didn't love this. Doesn't make me say fukk em. I learned long long long ago that the only difference between their opinion and mine is that they get paid to have one. Film is subjective. Even in this thread there's cats who loved this movie so they're not "wrong" it just worked more for them than me and you. it is what it is

Lol your right . It's just getting annoying I'm reading articles About the success of don't breathe , cool and instead a good portion of the article is how big a failure SS was and critics writing articles back when the witch came out trying to shame fans for being disappointed about the movie as being dumb

Yeah true but thats their opinion homie. It's the internet..the good and bad of it is that everyone has an opinion and everyone will share it no matter how much we fukkin try to ignore or avoid it. Shyt I agreed with a few articles I read about the witch and how some in the horror community received it but I also understood that people are entitled to like what they like and they're not going to suddenly like something or dislike something because they read 500 words telling them why they're wrong. I told you before but if it bugs you that much homie, make a wordpress blog, start reviewing flicks and get your opinion out there for the world to see. That way you get to use a worldwide platform to tell everyone else another side to it and be a consenting voice. Not all critics loved the witch nor did all of them love don't breathe.

I read a review on Collider that was more in line with my feelings on Don't breathe and homie gave it a C, which is probably what I'd give it if someone like @FlyRy forced me to give it a grade (which he's done in the past lol) but as a writer who does get paid to give his opinion on hip hop shyt, my advice would be just not to take it personally when cats disagree with you or tell you what you should be doing. The stuff I write has so much smart ass and irreverence in it that I'm sure there are plenty of people who disagree with me but...I just don't care:yeshrug:

This goes for every single genre of film. But some of them are based in reality but take it way too far with the nonsense

This was almost to the point of being goofy. Almost

I never saw this as based in reality though. The trick to any movie is that you have to buy into the reality of its world. I had that discussion with my homie the other day when we were comparing Ledger's joker to Leto's. He didn't like the fact that Leto's joker wore a SWAT uniform with "JOKER" plastered on the front and felt like it was too silly for that character. I told him that for that particular incarnation of the character, it wasn't out of line at all. This is the same joker with a hot purple lambo, gold, furs, owns a club, the whole 9. He's not a subtle guy at all so it makes perfect sense that he'd have that name on his outfit. Ledger's joker wouldn't because that's not the world he exists in.

My homie agreed.

Buying into a world you're presented in a flick starts with buying into the characters and their actions. I'd argue if you didn't buy some of the actions its probably because the characters didn't work for you but the rules of the world were set up pretty well. Every horror movie, well not every but most, deal in a heightened reality. Like they exists just on the edge of our own unless its something like the thing or evil dead 2 which is clearly trafficking in a different type of reality

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Several certainties I knew about this flick which made it predictable.

Cac with cornrows was gonna get capped first.

Simp wasn't going to make it because that wasn't his daughter.

Cable was going to die. Not like that.

At the end of the day 2 guys died simping over a girl who's baby wasn't theirs.

They were young white living in America wasting their whiteness. And I'm surprised that Simps dad security business wasn't under investigation. Further more why would people give his ass keys anyway :mindblown:

:dahell: When did it follows become the standard for thrillers/horror type films
Highly overrated movie. I forgot about it as soon as I finished watching it.

This movie is not bad at all. Very good directing and the acting isn't all that bad. It's predicatable af. The "twists" imo aren't really twists. I liked the Cujo homage. Good thriller but not as good as the reviews suggest. Green Room might be better even though this movie has better direction and overall tone. Still run of the mill in many aspects.

I give I a B-

Rental.

I still havent gotten around to Green Room, but i liked Dont Breathe. Had its predictable moments, including the ending. Funny how, even with only three or four potential victims, its all just as predictable as with double that amount. Would have been better had the director went there though. Break the rules for cryin out loud, and I thought he was till I looked at my watch and realized there was still another half hour.

I loved how the audience started laughing when ol boy broke out the turkey baster. We all just started laughing once we realized what it was. And nobody gave a fukk about who was about to get it either. She was not a character to sympathize with. Should have done "her time" IMO.

Yeah they made her just likeable enough... But from the beginning with them showing the ghetto ass trailer trash conditions, there was no way it wouldn't have ended different. The main twist might be the fate of the other character... at least for me.

And yeah green room is worth a watch, these two movies are very similar imo.

The ending was terrible. The villain got away and there was no closure. There isn't enough bad mom and poor little sister stories in the world to make me feel bad for a bytch who broke into a man's house. Even him having ole girl tied up didn't make me want the robbers to win. Just shytty. They showed you everything that was going to happen.
