That’s when they air The Bachelor/Bachelorette. They’d have to dead the show altogether. It’s a two hour show and based on what I read, any time they’d air their show other than a Monday, the ratings would fall hard. That’s why timeslots are important. You could have the same show but if you mess with the times, fans might not follow it.
I think you maybe overthinking it
You just don't run it until February
NFL is only September to January, run DWTS in Winter/Spring/Summer
I personally don't think if NFL says you can have MNF back on ABC, no way Disney says "but what about DWTS?"

That won't work. ABC used to run DWTS twice a year and moved to once year as the Spring season tanked bad. That's why it's later on in the year rather than at the beginning now. It all goes back to timeslot and when you decide to air a show.

They more than likely don't have the bread to compete outside of Amazon and more than likely don't think that ROI would be worth the cost it would take to get it. Because of COVID-19, ESPN and other companies are having to cut salary just to be able to afford the increasing in television rights from sports.

Facebook, apple, Google and Amazon all have the bread.

I just want to see the next evolution of sports broadcasting outside of the traditional way.

18 of the top 20 TV shows of the year are NFL
DWTS will not stop ABC from showing MNF

Oh I know it won't, which is why I have said that DWTS is gone from the schedule completely in 2-3 years. The change in hosts is just grasping at straws and delaying the inevitable. If MNF comes to ABC, then they will DWTS back to the spring and try to salvage it until they can come up with something else.

Except they have. There’s a reason why ABC was way too comfortable giving ESPN MNF. The ratings were slipping.

the NFL gets a lot handed to them, but ABC woulda rather air both than to get sports back during the week, get decent numbers at the expense of the shows after it, and air old episodes of World Series of Poker on ESPN while the football game is on.

14 years ago and NFL wanted Sunday Nights to be the big night of the week because they would be able to flex

It will happen eventually, but not right now. They need to a get a foothold in original content before they decide to add live sports into the mix.
apple, amazon and google (YT) all have the money...Prime already has some Thursday night games (or maybe all of them by now), they make the most sense to continue to increase their presence, that's why I think they'd be perfect for Sunday Ticket. and the OG content game is saturated, live sports would be a differentiator right now, they all also have so much cash, they can do both and not blink

Want the NBA to get something like this so bad. Gotta change they marketing model. NFL keeps on rollin tho :manny:

NBA only has to pay a quarter of the number of players the NFL does and their tv contract ain't that much smaller than the NFL's. They also get more gate revenue too. They're fine.

Disney wants games back on ABC because scripted programming no longer king with streaming taking over
Live sports is king for all these networks which is why NBA not really worried about low ratings either
Out of the top 20 tv shows in 2020, 18 of them are NFL and the other 2 are the presidential debates

Fox gave WWE $1 billion for Smackdown. That's how desperate they are.

This tweet was from two months ago, but ABC from what I have read wants back in. They want to get back in the Super Bowl rotation

NFL won't ever had to worry about not getting the bag anytime soon.

sidenote: I wish someone would listen to my Trappin With The Stars concept show :mjcry:
