Change is inevitable...
We told ya'll Dave was one of the realest
you could use a facebook container to preventing them tracking your activities in other tabs and still get to watch it. see: Facebook Container – Get this Extension for Firefox (en-US)I trust that Dave's message and delivery were epic but FYI, the irony is that anyone who watched this video on Instagram is getting pimped for their own data and humanity worse than Dave is being pimped through his contract. I'll wait to see this when it leaks to a more neutral platform. This post only built for real stand-up homies though.
This kind of thinking blinds you from seeing the bigger picture.I trust that Dave's message and delivery were epic but FYI, the irony is that anyone who watched this video on Instagram is getting pimped for their own data and humanity worse than Dave is being pimped through his contract. so shop the show to a network that gives a contract more to your liking. He signed the contract. He mentions “not knowing” what it means when it said he was giving away the right to use his likeness in perpetuity. What in the fukk else does he think that means? That’s not exactly hidden language, nor is it difficult to interpretI get what your saying but the show is named chappelle show for a reason them marvel movies aint named after gal gadot and Chris Evans Dave did a lot of work created the skits and everything while those actors were casted for there roles they was involved but not as much as Dave in his work
Maybe he didn’t know what in perpetuity meant?? Go outside and ask 100 random ppl that question and 75 gonna not know the answer.so shop the show to a network that gives a contract more to your liking. He signed the contract. So figure it out before you sign a binding deal. He wasnt 12 years old. You’re a grown ass man signing a contract.Maybe he didn’t know what in perpetuity meant?? Go outside and ask 100 random ppl that question and 75 gonna not know the answer.
I hope you don’t live your life and treat people with such a glaring lack of context. If not, I’m going to assume every decision you made after age 18 was pristine, well thought out and effective. No mistakes. None.So figure it out before you sign a binding deal. He wasnt 12 years old. You’re a grown ass man signing a contract.
At the last company I worked for I remember sitting around as an underpaid executive knowing that my white colleagues were making as much as 5 to 6 digits more than me. But I took the role because I needed to at the time.
That shyt INFURIATED ME. Still does when I think back to it.
Chappelle has had to live that feeling EVERYDAY for almost a decade now. And there's nothing he can do about it. Can't even imagine what this nikka has gone through.
You sound very sheltered. Jesus im embarrassed for youSo figure it out before you sign a binding deal. He wasnt 12 years old. You’re a grown ass man signing a contract.

Not saying you’re wrong, cuz I admit to not being knowledgeable about contracts in this industry, but did any of his contemporaries get that kind of deal? Like, did Chris Rock get a deal like that for his show with HBO? And Chris Rock was a much bigger name at the time he inked his deal with HBO.
If not, I have a hard to believing Dave would’ve got all that from Comedy Central. Seems much more plausible they would’ve just moved on to the next guy who did agree to their terms. At most, I could see Dave negotiating a single season deal and then demanding all of that when it came time to reup for the second season. This likely would have resulted in a smaller pay day for season 1, but he’d be betting on himself.
There could also be a race angle here too. Take Seinfeld for example...how big was he when he got his sitcom? Did he have ownership from the beginning, or did he get that in later seasons? I think Seinfeld is a good comparison on many levels since Seinfeld is still eating handsomely on his magnum opus. That’s what is likely eating at Dave. The Chappelle Show is the most lauded work of his career, it’s gotta suck to not be getting paid properly for it while you have to smile as everyone you talk to wants to bring it up to you.
