The amount of stupidity in these tweets. Do they not understand the difference between someone asking you to boycott their show and the other asking you to boycott a WHOLE streaming service?:why:

im legit heated reading this shyt :mindblown:

ZERO understanding of what he said in that standup bit, relating it to Monique's situation which had nothing to do with comedy central :dahell:

Either these birds didnt even bother watching the video or they are THAT stupid :snoop:

Andrzej Sapkowski did himself dirty when he gave away rights to his Witcher series to CD Projekt Red but they actually caved and signed a new licensing deal with him when he came back to claim royalties.

Dave should get paid. :ld:

You posters keep talking about leverage. Dave is more successful now than he was in 2003. He has all leverage in the world and they still won’t even sit at the table with him. He pointed out their exact words were “what do we need you for” this is a sentiment that all white/Jewish executives have for black people in all industries. They look at it like they’re doing us a favor. Take the show living single. They just wanted to negotiate certain aspects of the script and NBC stole their whole show and created friends. Master P wouldn’t renegotiate his contract so they went to his rivals and gave cash money a deal. Michael Jackson owned half of Sony publishing and they attacked him relentlessly with false allegations and smear campaigns until he died and now they conveniently got their half back. The minute you want ownership you get blackballed or labeled as “difficult to work with” Black people have leverage today because now we don’t need them due to technology and social media we can produce and market our own content but this wasn’t possible in 2000.

:wow::wow: My father put me on game early and said, READ EVERYTHING before you put pen to paper. You could be selling yourself into slavery because of your name on paper. I 100% read everything, even the fine print.

But Dave dropped a powerful piece. Contracts are legally binding, but putting the power to the people could make the company do what's right. :to:

You know damn well you don't read those Apple/Android Privacy & Security policies from start to finish

EDIT: A heavy, heavy gem was dropped about Bernie Mac.

The messed up thing is that the $50M they were offering him was HIS money! He had made them hundreds of millions off the the show, didn't pay Chappelle, but then tried to get him to sign

The worst part about it is this:

Expenses
$1M - Production Costs
$500k - Paid to Chappelle
$200k - Other Payroll

$1.7M - Capital Expenditure

Income
$150M - Ad Revenue
$50M - Merchandising
$300M - DVD Revenue (Dave gets a share)

$500M - Total Revenue

$498M - Profit

Now what do they do with the money?
First, they declare the DVD Revenue to be a "windfall" and use a clause to cap his earnings from the DVD.

$5M - Dave's Royalties from the DVD after clause (should have been 9 figures).

$493M - Profit goes to Comedy Central (Doesn't Include P&D and Marketing)

Summary

$1.7M - Paid by Comedy Central to do the show
$500M - Generated off the hard work of Dave Chappelle and his team
$5.5M - Paid to Dave, this is the adjusted payment once "windfall" clause was used.
$493M - Pocket by Comedy Central

Comedy Central pockets $493M and has the nerve to tell Dave:

:win:CC: Hey, great job on those first two seasons, check this out we'll give you $50M for all your hard work but you'll owe us two more seasons, a tour, and a 1 hour stand up special.

:wtf: Dave: Hold up, my show generated $500M off the first two seasons, I had the highest selling DVD of all time, you guys pocket $493M in PROFIT after stiffing me out of my DVD sales, and then want to offer me $50M of my own money but only if I give you two more seasons, a tour, and an hour special..

fukk THAT!

:camby:

we gon need to watch out for him now cause you know how that jew machine works when you speak out

in case you missed it the 1st time

Back in MIA
Man that one hit me the hardest bro. I was fortunate to grow up having an aunt that was a known figure in the music/entertainment business so i've had the opportunity to not just meet but be in personal spaces of some celebrities. "Hollywood" is the absolute fukking devil.
At the last company I worked for I remember sitting around as an underpaid executive knowing that my white colleagues were making as much as 5 to 6 digits more than me. But I took the role because I needed to at the time.

That shyt INFURIATED ME. Still does when I think back to it.

Chappelle has had to live that feeling EVERYDAY for almost a decade now. And there's nothing he can do about it. Can't even imagine what this nikka has gone through.

TYRONE GA!
There are no "i am desperate and will do anything to make it" clauses in contracts that you sign that null and void anything you feel is negative. He did not have to sign it but he chose so knowing the terms so i can get being angry, but CC is not screwing him.

I do agree with this. However, you can always make shyt right. At least give that man residuals and free him of certain shyt in the OG contract.
