I think average it's between Prime and hulu so I'm not mad at anyone who thinks Hulu has the best content

:dwillhuh: Nah, that's just wrong... If we're still talking originals? No doubt Hulu got them on licensed programming but they're originals fall short. Hard Sun was trash. I tapped out of Castle Rock, I thought it was too boring to continue half way through and I heard it ended ass anyway. Freakish and Future Man I enjoy but IMO they're low to mid tier shows. I'll give you The Handmaid's Tale, didn't grab me but I won't judge it unfairly off the couple eps I seen :ld: 11.22.63 might have been the only top tier show from Hulu I enjoyed all the way through.

So right now they got The Handmaid's Tale and The Runaways that are doing good with the critics. :ehh:

I can list way more from Netflix that folks are ignoring for some reason. :francis:

I miss old netflix that sent dvds to the house and you could get EVERY movie.

now I log in, think of an old movie, go to search, nope, not there. like wtf. netflix was an answer to blockbuster but now its become a studio thats full of 200 new series per year that I dont want to watch, and selected movies.

sure they probably have added subs in other countries cause they can put a lot of foreign content without worrying about studios, but I dont watch korean soaps. so its useless.
netflix streaming service was never meant to be this. for on demand access to most good movies, you still need their DVD service or you have to do an on-demand rental from someone like amazon, itunes, cable, etc. there is no way a company could support a streaming access to every movie (by that i mean things people want to see, not the no name, c list movies that fill netflix and prime) all the time and at the same time plan.

i don't think it's too much to ask that there are a few steaming services that offer bigger amounts of content across studios (like music streaming), but people also have to realize for the good/first run stuff, or old stuff, you either need to own it or rent it one-off. people are asking too much for netlix to have every first release movie, the dope shyt you grew up on, their own content, and all the content from all the studios

I watch everything on my phone so I just use beetv, movieboxpro and others. No need for Netflix :yeshrug:

:scust:

if i'm not bored while doing cardio, watching anything on the phone besides youtube/IG clips is :flabbynsick:

even while traveling/on a plane, i at least load some stuff to the iPad

watching on the phone

I dont see how Hulu is better. Lack of 4k content, movie selection is much worse. And its Hulu originals are much worse. Maybe if you only watch tv shows...both got decent anime selection.

I had Hulu recently, nothin is on there :dwillhuh: the Live TV option was coo but that about it.

HBO is still hittin :wow:

Netflix Has Lost $17 Billion in Value in the Last 24 Hours

It was a record-setting day in the worst way for Netflix on Thursday, with the streaming giant’s valuation dropping $17 billion after the company reported disappointing second quarter subscriber growth after the market close on Wednesday.

Netflix’s stock slumped 10.3% to $325.21 per share during Thursday trading, marking its worst single-day percentage drop in three years. Compounding matters, the $17 billion hit in its market capitalization was the biggest single-day drop in Netflix’s history.

To put that in perspective: Netflix’s one-day loss was greater than the valuation of both Roku ($12.4 billion) and Viacom ($12.5 billion), and came within shouting distance of matching CBS ($19.2 billion). Still, even after its Thursday gut punch, Netflix is worth about $142 billion.

Netflix’s woes come a day after it reported only 2.7 million new customers signed up during Q2 — falling about 2.5 million subscribers short of Wall Street’s expectations. The company even lost subscribers at home, with 126,000 U.S. accounts dropping the service. Netflix, in its letter to shareholders, blamed the minor exodus on its recent price hikes.

After adding its latest overseas customers, Netflix now has 151.6 million global subscribers. Despite flopping on subscriber growth, Netflix did post better-than-expected earnings and its $4.92 billion in revenue essentially matched Wall Street estimates.

Tom Harrington, senior research analyst with Enders Analysis, said Netflix’s Q2 results were “concerning,” but added it’s likely a “minor blip” due to a lack of compelling shows that debuted or returned during the quarter. “In all likelihood there will be growth in the current quarter, with big returning original shows like ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Orange Is the New Black,’ ‘Money Heist’ and ‘Mindhunter’ — something that “usually results in a boost,” Harrington said.

Prime has some good stuff I really dig. Sneaky Pete, Bosch, man in the high castle, homecoming, goliath, Marvelous Mrs. maisel. I think Hulus only good show is Handmaids Tale.

Also...Castle Rock is on Hulu and there is a Jack Ryan show on prime...not Reacher show. Lee Child did just come with a deal to produce a Reacher tv show with Prime...but it's not close to even filming yet.
