There are so many great games coming out WEEKLY but online discourse has such a miserable energy around it. It’s mostly depressed cacs blaming their own unhappiness on games when they need to focus on their real life issues.

That's all it is. You have these miserable knuckle dragging neckbeard weirdo cacs, and non-binary "I identify as the....stop sign" cacs taking all of their feel of failure energy onto a platform that should be fun. That's it and that's all. These motherfukkers managed to bring toxicity to friggin cozy games. Everything got to be this unicorn, instead of settling for a pony with a bus pass.

My god, you have developers being held at gunpoint to create these damn games, only to get shytted on by the suits, the whip crackers, and sweaty gamer cacs along with the stinky shut in content creators. Like I'm at a point if devs quit all at once and say fukk you to the suits, gamers, and the industry...I wouldn't be mad.

I'm tired of this wave of cloud chasing negative clouds of miserable possibilities because a dude got the internet and free time from a shower. Hell, Blizzard just released a battle royale mode for WOW and these cockbuffers are still whiny about "we didn't asked for this.."

No shyt, but its worth the effort than fixing all of these impossible problems on a 20 fukking year old video game that's still selling like gangbusters.

Unrealistic consumer/publisher expectations does more damage imo

Exactly.

For instance, I have been playing BeamNG Drive and enjoying it for it to be in early access for damn near a decade and some change. One of the biggest gripes that I have about the game is the lack of NPCs (silly as hell, but the crash dummy mods make up for it). I didn't bytch about the ordeal, I just let well enough and realize that this game has more content than what AAA games are bringing to the table for a whopping 25 dollars (20 now since the spring sales is a popping).

It just blows me that gamers should be enjoying the feasts of various forms of options, but somehow these dudes are so miserable and angry, like why are you so angry? We are living in a time when gamers can download an entire collection for free 99 or 9.99 a year. Hell, Funcoland was the plug and even the sales for such games hurt a Joey's pockets. But at least around that time, we as gamers were more appreciative and not mad at the world because a pixel got the titties out :francis:

Yeah, that's the issue because hate gets clicks. The positive stuff won't get that much traction, but post something negative and it creates a lot of traction . This is not just about video games, but for most forms of entertainment

But gaming itself is like a cesspool versus something like the movie industry and music. The movie industry is all pretentious pinky up babble, but at the end of the day most agree that the industry needs a reboot.

The music industry is in a bad spot, but its all fandom and tea sipping, no harm or foul.

Gaming industry is a entire different beast because the developers have to deal with not only the heads, but the ass end of the tail (customers and content creators). You got to factor in that poor sap that dealt with crunch time, only to receive a laid off notice, endless tweets of "game sux", and some greasy stinky fatneck on the Youtube making O faces going "GAME IS DEAL ON ARRIVAL!!"

The gaming industry is facing the ass end of negativity. At least, the flames die down in the movie industry after a spell. The dudes that made Ooblets still have to deal with the constant "YULE SHOULD HAVE PUT IT ON STEAM DAE ONE LMAOZ". Like STFU and wash your cheeto encrusted hands and your ass while at it :francis:

Racing flopped in favor of Forza and Gran Turismo.

I don’t really think this is true. Gran Turismo existed along side a lot of those popular arcade racers for multiple generations, and thats when GT was the biggest game on playstation.

I think just in general graphical fidelity led to more people gravitating towards simulation sports and racing titles in general, rather than the arcade stuff

This is applicable to pretty much any entertainment medium.

The internet made it easy to find like minded folks no matter how asinine your opinion is.

:manny:
Wasn't like that in the 90's or maybe it was but we just had no social media to see...

Well, i do agree that I'm tired of negativity. But im also tired of fake positivity so im not gonna complain too much about it. There's not many outlets giving a balanced perspective. You got dikk eaters that get paid to gloss over major issues, and negative nancies that thrive off of bad energy and console wars.

I just try to stay above the fray and give praise where its due but also staying on these publishers necks cause they really be out here trying to play us. There's no reason we should be finding out at purchase that the game we bought at full price wasn't running well. But we also should be grateful and appreciative that our hobby has grown to the point where money is being spent to this extent. so idk :yeshrug:

That's easy. Don't buy the game day 1. Once them 1st quarter sales don't hit them targets gaming companies will start making sure they shyt works when it comes out.

Reviews aren't moving the needles on most games, especially games from well known studios. You can find tons of negative reviews about Starfield and Cities Skylines 2, and both of those games shattered sales record from both of those studios.

The overwhelming majority of people watching a video game review...already bought the game.
