That’s how much teams are willing to pay him.

It’s not his fault it’s the market. Teams will pay $60M for 40 games of Goat level center play.

The man physically just can’t do it. He’s fought this since he was a rookie.
It doesn't matter how you spin it. Nobody wants to hear about guys getting paid this much being unable to play back-to-backs. Teams aren't dropping ticket prices for the games these guys miss. Do you think Clippers fans are happy about Kawhi extension right now? Bad contracts are bad contracts.

Also, by and large, load management does not work. Guys still get injured every postseason. The champions generally do not practice it. The only notable exceptions are the Spurs once and the Raptors with Kawhi. The rest of these teams have played their guys throughout the season.

As usual:

Load management
Foul baiting

Laod management creates more unwatchable games, which hurts regular season interest

Foul baiting makes certain players uninteresting to watch

All this creates a cycnical aura that hurts interest

it's not a good product. We don't know who 98% of the players are. LeBron is still the face of the league. You can't keep trying to sell that a 50 year old is the best player in the league,

Brother, imma keep it real with you. If you think Disney, Amazon and Comcast are facing an impending collapse that will have them unable to fulfill their contractual obligations, then we have much bigger issues than the NBA folding imma need you to rethink this statement.

I’m not saying those companies are facing a collapse. But it’s not far-fetched that if viewership significantly declines and the networks struggle to get the same rates from advertisers that they’ll look to renegotiate the broadcasting deals.

I don’t even think the NBA cares about viewship like that anymore. They seem content with impressions and views on social. As long as they have something to sell to the advertisers

I'm sure cats like Ant man and Lamelo dropping F bombs every time a camera in their face isn't helping either. Some people are turned off by the immaturity.

People talk about WNBA ratings but the WNBA also has much less games. If the NBA had the same amount of games, its ratings would rise as well. Also, it’s just a matter of star power and caring about the teams. It’s a result of everything but the game being harped on for a decade. And people may not want to admit it but the “best” players being non-Americans who don’t care about promotion or being relevant in the culture doesn’t help the game. Magic, Mike, Kobe, Shaq, LeBron, Wade, Melo, KG and Steph were very much a part of pop culture.
