Even the on the coli, the mafukkas that talk like they such big NBA fans admit they don't even watch the shyt much. :dead:

But will argue all day that the NFL ain't the better league by a 1000 miles.

NBA fans on here barely watching they own teams games.

NFL fans be watching like 5 full games a week regardless of who it is.

Uh if the viewership continues declining like this and the networks struggle to recoup via advertisers, those deals are in trouble. It’s still a major red flag that Mark Cuban sold his majority stake. He also sold his tech company at the peak of the dot com bubble before it went bust.
Matt Ishbia just spent 4 billion for the Suns, when Cuban sold the controlling interests of the Mavs that shyt was bought up in a flash for 3.5 billion and that wasn't even for 100% of the team. Please shut the fukk up with this psuedo business babble. You're not a financial forecaster, you don't know what you're talking about. Just like you dumb ass nikkas didn't think this last deal would garner the amount it did. It's OK to just be a fan and shut up. Consistently being wrong makes you look incompetent. :mjlol:

Who cares about ratings honestly? The NBA sold its packages at peak value because the networks are desperate for live sports. After this batch of deals, the packages will be cheaper but who cares?
:yeshrug:
That’s all rich people problems. You as a fan consume the sport however you do. I watch the 12 minute clips of the games I am interested every morning. I’ll stream a live game maybe twice a week on a bootleg site. I try to make 3-5 games a year.

The NBA is forever. Who cares about ratings if it ends up baseball or hockey status. You will still follow your team, make a few games, and talk shyt at the barber shop or on here. Ratings has no meaning to consumers. Some sucker network will buy the next packages at whatever lower price. All that means is less money for the owners and players. Are you mad if the only split 400Ms a year per team in 2030 instead of 450 per year?
:mjlol:
:camby:
It's a vehicle to allow these old nikkas to voice their grievances about the league. "Things need to go back to how it was when I was 20 in '95 because the ratings were good back then" most of what people do or project is for validation of self.

Just Win Baby
Adam Silver has spent the last 5 years transforming the nba into the euroleague :yeshrug:

You reap what you sow. The soul of the game is gone.

I also feel like the emphasis on star guys winning championships is no longer important thanks to Lebron failing to do so. The league had to justify Lebrons greatness by telling us that “winning a championship isn’t everything” at the same time also telling us that the regular season is too long and not important. So why should I watch? I gamble on this shyt now, and watch highlights, that’s it.

Can't judge players by championships, but don't worry about them skipping meaningless regular season games. Might as well box score watch and run their stats thru algorithms to see who better :ohhh:

Exactly. This is the biggest thing. This is the reason people aren’t watch. Growing up it was no basketball reference, fg% dikk riding going on. There was no such thing as a shooting split lol Reddit discourse has ruined basketball. It was simple, was this guy “nice” or not :russ:

That’s how we judged players, how “nice” he was. Nice meaning skilled.

Uh just because teams recently sold for large amounts doesn’t mean the league doesn’t face future financial headwinds. Wachovia bought Golden West for over $20 billion before the subprime bubble burst. And Isbbia bought a controlling stake valuing the Suns at $4 billion not the entire team. You’re the one who sounds incompetent if you don’t think consistent year-over-year double digit declines in viewership isn’t a red flag. Bill Simmons, who is extremely well connected in those circles and actually knows the people who facilitate the team purchases, said in his pod the league faces hurdles finding someone willing to buy the Celtics or the expansion teams at the $5 billion they’re looking for.

49ers..Braves..Celtics
This Tuesday on TNT we’re gonna see the 15-0 Cavs going up against the reigning champion Celtics in a tournament game. That game if marketed right should be a huge deal

Well you see Tatum and Mitchell are both nice guys who keep to themselves and Brown is at odds with Nike so people don't want to hype that up, it doesn't fit their shaderoom like coverage of the sport...

There’s still great competitive games on every night, that hasn’t changed

Feels like it’s of a marketing disconnect

ESPN's abysmal coverage has contributed a lot to that.

The stigma of load management is gonna hang over the league for a while too since they took way too long to address it. Embiid announcing before the season he wasn't playing back-to-backs ever again after getting a 3/$193 million extension is not going to sit well with people. You cannot sell to fans, "yeah, this guy is getting over $60 million per season but he cannot play back-to-backs."

Not only when you making $60 mil a year but also when you conserving for a playoff run and then shyt in the bed in the playoffs

The Spurs jump-started load management but they at least were making deep playoff runs most years so you could at least sell the fans that there was a greater purpose :skip:
