:ohlawd:

Years back I reminisce and remember
Sittin’ on wood benches gave me splinters
Just a baby nikka thankful
When them killas came through, guns out, movin’
I thank the ones that said:
“Shorty go home, we about to be shootin’”

Thank you compassionate savages for protecting the young GOAT :wow::mjcry:

For reparations, then they hit us with tax":wtf:

"Walkin' talkin' dead, though we think we're livin' (black zombies)
We just copy-cat, followin' the system (black zombies)"

Doo Rags hook is stuck in my head for days

The doo rags are back, fitted hats, snorkels and furs
Riker's Island busses still packed, what's the word?
The drinkers stay drinkin, or puffin they herb
And I'm, still enjoyin life's ride; one mo' time
The doo rags are back, fitted hats, snorkels and furs
Riker's Island busses still packed, what's the word?
The drinkers still drinkin, or puffin they herb
And I'm, still enjoyin life's ride; right?

this has most replay value out of his entire catalog imo.
I think so too.

Illmatic is obviously his best album but it sounds like the time it's from. Not a bad thing at all. But there's something about Lost Tapes where in my opinion at least 2/3rds of it sound not too tied down to any time period...like they could be from almost any era.

Obviously not every song.

So it has a really timeless quality to it more so than any other Nas album, I think.

EDIT: Has anyone ever done an article on how Nas (or whoever on his behalf) chose the songs, and the order, etc? It's perfectly put together and I don't think I've ever seen any behind the scenes material on video or in text about the project.

The Hood is like a Ghost Town Haunted by Souls who thought Time stood Still:wow::damn:
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real...

That song has my senior quote. Everything will eventually come to an end. So try to savor the moment, cause time flies, don't it?

:mjcry: I knew I picked a good one. Every year it means more.
