Sonically, this is the album delusional hip hop purists wanted It Was Written to be

My favourite album, the piece of work which really defines Nas as the greatest, throwaway and left over tracks ends up being arguably the greatest album in rap history.

It’s the true black album. No promotion or videos. I just remember going to Best Buy on Tuesday for something else and it was there.

It was supposed to be released in 05 and yes there was an article stating that Nas was gonna shoot a video and everything for one of the songs

That “Oral History of the Lost Tapes” article is legit. It basically says that They picked from lots of tracks with Nas’ approval and then Nas went back to complete a few. So that could mean that those unreleased tracks where Nas only did a single verse and the “fell out of love” with could possibly be completed in future Lost Tapes projects.

it’s one of those albums where the Source should have went back and give a classic rating cause the 4.5 mics that it got doesn’t do it justice

definitely up there with the GOAT albums
