The Nas album I want is that Columbia version of the The Lost Tapes 2 that was supposed to be released in 2004. I can't find the one article that I knew existed but it stated that the album has unreleased songs, remixes and freestyles (which probably means those one verse tracks that nas starts but rarely completes). It was in the pipe line but I am not sure why it was scrapped. I want it because we would probably get more from that I am to DOE era when Nas still was on that Nasty Nas shyt. Now, unfortunately, It will become harder and harder to get some of that older stuff. I had a theory that I posted here once that stated, the long Nas takes to release a follow up, the less likely we are to get some of the older stuff. This is due to the large number of more recent materials that he records and he has been rumored too have recorded a lot over the last 6 years.

Around the time this dropped, I remember I was a huge fan of Stillmatic and Gods Son. Those and Illmatic were my top 3 Nas joints. But I grew up and now as I enter my 30's, it's Illmatic, IWW, and Lost Tapes. I really can see myself listening to Lost Tapes for the rest of my life.

yeah I would put Lost Tapes right up there with Illmatic as far as his best albums with IWW and Stillmatic behind

I've listened to it 3 times in the last 2 days, it never gets old:wow:

The greatest hip hop album ever in my honest opinion :banderas:

It plays like a mental diary of Nas, chronicling his struggles, thoughts, temptations, and inception in an introspective and reflective manner :wow:

Nas is in top form lyrically and flow-wise (GOAT), and the production is the most cohesive out of all his albums

It was supposed to be released in 05 and yes there was an article stating that Nas was gonna shoot a video and everything for one of the songs

It’s crazy to think that a “compilation” can be considered as a GOAT album contender but in this case it does:wow:
