Vernon Family/You Mean The World To Me (Hip Hop Is Dead)

Who Are You/Queens Wolf/War Against Love (Untitled)

Lost Freestyle/Royalty/It Never Ends/Beautiful Life (Life Is Good)

The Art Of It (Lost Tapes 2 exclusive)

No Bad Energy/Tanasia/Adult Film/Highly Favored/Jarreau Of Rap/Queensbridge Politics (Album before Nasir)

good list but technically no bad energy, tanasia, highly and adult film were for life is good

qb politics/art of it and it never ends are all from the album after life is good (nas album done)

Slight correction. The “Big Queens Dude” song is from the pre-HHID era (called by some the “NASdaq Dow Jones” era) this was when he was still on Columbia and perhaps maybe six months before The I Declare War concert. Nas had announced an album called NASdaq Dow Jones and this album initially spawned the “2 million dollar Neptunes beat”, “Bullet X” (rumored 50 Cent diss) and a few other odds and ends that turned out to be internet rumors and bullshyt.

This was also around the time Nas and Premier did the Scratch Magazine Cover talking about the joint album.

i now believe the 2 million dollar neptune beat WAS vernon family

For real?

I coulda swore I heard not too long ago that nas and az have enough unreleased material for a whole album

I forgot where I heard this

Anybody know what I’m talking about

it was one of AZ's homies who told the story of how they met and he said they have an albums worth of material we have never heard

this was recent, like last year

though i presume the material hes speakin of is from illmatic to the firm

Right on for this @Ziggiy beautiful thing about the Lost Tapes projects are that they naturally cause you to revisit previously released projects and see how the Lost Tapes songs recorded at the same time fit sonically and thematically within the context of those albums. LIG is pretty fukking tough. Took some shyt off that I didn’t really like too much and replaced them with Lost Freestyle, It Never Ends, and Beautiful Life. :banderas:

just quoted you since i corrected zigs list above

Hold Down The Block is one of the top tracks on the that album :dwillhuh:

factual. no if ands about it

Fukk that last picture. I could care less about hearing nas with JT on a timberland beat.

That first photo though, I’m dying to hear the GOAT of the 90’s with the GOAT of the 2000’s on a track together. Nas would of killed any feature on drogas wave.

nas on a timberland beat is proven tho but i can see JT crooning and ruining it

One of Nas best tracks ever.

fax

That Nas, JT, Timbaland song could very well be better than a Nas/Lupe song and I say that as a fan of both Nas and Lupe. Why? Any collabo could go either way (dope, meh, or wack). Same people called Nas a sellout for having Lauryn Hill singing a hook on Trackmasters beat and it turned out to be one of his best. And yeah, Lauryn >>>>> JT, but that's beside the point.

timbo is known for hiphop rnb collabos so i hope for the best. shyt could be flames but could also be corn. well see. maybe lol

MOST of the production on HHID is good. Untitled’s production is excellent in my opinion.

I feel like I understand what Nas was trying to do on HHID. The first half of the album was exploring how Hip Hop died and from Black Republican on he’s trying to show how to resurrect it.

Black Republican- Unity between once warring factions

Not Going Back- Not allowing the hood to dictate your moves.

Still Dreamin- Not allowing other people’s dreams to bring you down/deter you

Hold Down The Block- How to represent where you come from while still progressing

Blunt Ashes- learning from the mistakes from our musical elders

Let There Be Light- How to sustain a long career as a rapper

Play On Playa- If you gonna spit that pimp/flay shyt. Do it with skill and some form of integrity.

Can’t Forget About You- Appreciating Nostalgia and those who paved a path

Hustlers- Unity between East and West Coast

Hope- Nas summarizing it all

perfect summary. never seen anyone break it down aside from myself

add to the fact he has a song examining whos responsible for hiphops demise.

and yo what was up w that link u put up when the album dropped??

post got removed

Interesting. So Nas didn't specify when this was recorded but it definitely sounds more like he sought him out as opposed to it being a true lost tape/cutting room floor song. So it's definitely from either when @Piff Perkins 's source said (2013/2014) or possibly even later than that.

Vernon Family and The Art Of It definitely could've been on Hip Hop Is Dead, probably Never Ends as well. All would've fit up there perfectly placing You Can't Kill Me, Hold Down The Block, Not Going Back, and Who Killed it. I also would've add the joint he did with Hi-Tek called Music For Life. HHID would've been a strong 4.5/4.75 and definitely in the top half of his catalog.
I'm with you but Never Ends was recorded late 2013/early 2014 at the earliest and is possibly as new as the past couple years.

Is anyone even more excited about Nas next new album? Seeing that he has high grade material sitting around in the stash and he has been getting top quality production on his last 4-6 projects. I am.

Anyone else think Queens Wolf is the best song on this album

Just a creative smooth song with vivid storytelling only Nas can do.
And the hook is :whew:

Imagine a thriller type video to it:ohlawd:

For me personally it's not only the best song on the
album it's outright one of my favorite Nas songs period.
It's has everything that makes me a Nas fan in it.
