@Ziggiy @The Dust King brehs where are y’all getting your info about which LT2 tracks were recorded for each album recording period?? :why: I’m trying to be precise in how I substitute LT2 tracks for those albums they should’ve/could’ve/would’ve been on if someone made a different decision. My LIG is fukking fire right now but I was relying on @Ziggiy’s list. Btw I’m convinced Nas’s work during the LIG period was possibly his best since the Stillmatic era. I think the track selection and sequencing for the official LIG release underwhelmed me. Help me out if you can brehs.

Talking about which album some of the tracks were for. Also going on older interviews with Nas and the producers it ain’t hard to tell.

For instance Nas worked with DJ Toomp during the Untitled era, Toomp said they did 4 songs, 3 of which never saw the light of day. Queens Wolf is one of those songs hence its an Untitled era joint.

Nas mentioned in XXL that he was working with Pharrell during the HHID era. Hence Vernon Family is a HHID era joint

Statik Selektah mentioned that he had a joint produced for Nas that was very close to making Life Is Good but Def Jam couldn’t clear the sample. Hence Lost Freestyle is a Life Is Good era joint (Statik confirmed this on his social media)

I thought DJ Toomp also did N.I.G.G.E.R and the unreleased Black Girl Lost 2.

I appreciate the creativity @Izanami and @DoubleClutch and y’all have sone good ideas but y’all are fukking with my OG Lost Tapes and it’s stressing me. That sequence is perfection brehs

:damn::heh: I don’t even wanna contemplate changing that shyt
:whoa:

nah breh thas you and nostalgia talking.

the original lost tapes was curated by ameries husband lenny nicholson. he picked the tracks and he picked the order.

he said doo rags felt like the first track hence thas why it starts it off

but i dont kno to this be true nor realistic because the last song on the album is fetus

fetus should be the first track, it makes sense from so many diff angles.

as far as sequencing, lost tapes 1 is infinitely better by starting with fetus and ending on doo rags.

doo rags was the last track on stillmatic as well just like fetus wouldve been track 1 on I AM.

i suspect the album was mastered/sequenced in reverse and lenny created this narrative years later to explain this anomaly

so listening to lost tapes 2 i found the sequencing to be non conductive toward the middle.

the layering of 3 tracks with singing hooks is one issue and the other is tanasia plays after royalty which doesnt mesh well sonically.

bad energy sounds like an opener but i disagree and say it sounds like a closer

beautiful life with its extra long intro and dedication to his fans plays out like an extension of the life is good experience

essentially picking up where you left off

on top of which nas has a laundry list of problems/issues he speaks on that hes dealth with the last few years

that is album opening material.

so listen to this album in reverse as well and you will hear the flow.

Queens house of detention closed in 2002 so queens wolf could possibly be at least that old

Or maybe nas wrote the song back in the days and recorded years later but never changed the lyrics

Or maybe he wrote it and recorded it after queens house closed but wasn’t aware it closed
