Nas performance is debatable, but the production is definitely more consistent on this than Stillmatic.
That might be debatable, but I feel Still is the better project overall.

I’m with you on the 2nd two sentences. That first sentence though?Definitely feels like a more cohesive project than LT1.
This might be Nas's most well produced album since... it's predecessor.
Nas should only release Lost Tapes albums. lol.
.
Me too. Stillmatic falters a little bit on the final 1/3rd but for the most part it’s super solid. It’s either my 3rd or 4th favorite Nas album depending on the day. Illmatic and Lost Tapes are at numbers 1 and 2, and Stillmatic and IWW swap out for the 3rd slot depending on my mood. That might be debatetable but I feel Still is the better project overall.
Im not bothering him. I even said his opinion is his but he’s in the minority with that opinion. But come on fam. Saying dude is KRS One status is objectively false. That aint even an opinion. That's how he feels. Leave him alone. Maybe he was expecting something different. I just don't understand how he's saying Nas is washed when this is essentially a compilation of old songs.
My thoughts exactly. After some listens, second half of the album is much better than the first. The last 4 tracks really close out nice
I'm trying to figure out why they are getting too carried away with Lost Tapes 2.It's not a top 5 Nas project. Illmatic, IWW, Still, LT1, LIG are all clearly better.
They don’t technically count as albums. But that first one is such a lightning in a bottle/once in a lifetime moment of perfect cohesion that I do call it an album even though it’s not. It’s so cohesive that people just started putting it high up in their Nas album rankings and no one ever cares enough to argue.Do the lost tapes count as albums? I thought they were considered like compilations since it’s songs from different periods and such. I believe the first lost tapes didn’t count towards Nas original 10 album deal with Columbia and the reason why he didn’t release any lost tapes with Def Jam was because they wouldn’t count towards his deal. Can someone clarify this please.
I think they wouldnt count LT2 because when he was gonna release it it was prolly mostly Columbia label songsDo the lost tapes count as albums? I count it as an album because the shyt’s werent released. Same way Ignorant shyt is on American Gangster and that shyt was 5 years old at the time. U never know how old these songs be that artists put on albums until an artist tells u. Or the song leaked before they put it on a project. And half of the album is from Stillmatic sessions so them shyts was only like a year old. They don’t technically count as albums. I just sort of lie to myself and act like he recorded those songs with the intention of releasing them that way.
shyt. I listen to it more than Illmatic. Especially in my 30’s now lost tapes just resonates with me so much. My senior yearbook quote is from lost tapes.
