I don't know what this proves. That Nas asked for feedback, and made sure his verses fit the concept of the song?

You made it seem like Nas had the entire song written and recorded, then the Trackmasters told him that none of it worked so Nas had to do multiple versions of the song until they were satisfied with it. It just sounds like there were certain lines he had to work on and he ended up rewriting his verses because of him needing to get the concept right.

My point was just like Poke said "sometimes artists get tunnel vision". I believe 'Who Are You' was one of those moments. Maybe he doesn't have somebody around now to tell him it was a bad idea, or maybe somebody said cut that song off the untitled LP because you already have a bunch of stronger social/political songs.

Some songs should probably stay on the cutting room floor, other times the artist cuts something dope because it doesn't fit the album, or is too similar to other songs on the album.

You alright dude? The quote does not jive with what you tried to portray. At all.
You're aware trackmasters did multiple tracks on IWW right?
What was described sounds like a regular studio session.
Nas even did the exact same thing with young unknown C Sick for the film session.

Yeah I read it back, I did make it sound like Nas needed a lot of help or something. I just know Nas fukks things up from time to time. Even that song still has some lines which make zero sense like sending a bunch of criminals to Africa, and everybody being able to sell pure coke as if anybody would choose to be a drug dealer if they had supreme power over the world.

You can point out a lot of Nas songs through the years where the concept doesn't come off, but hey thats at least due to him being more creative with his writing than most.

Just spun it last night after I smoked the last of my Colorado wax I bought

fukking loved most of it on first listen. 8 for me at the moment but I always listen to albums like 100 times before I really rate it. If you can come back to it a year later and listen almost all the way through it’s a great album

If you can listen to every track years later it’s a classic
