Here's Everything We Know About Nas' 'The Lost Tapes 2' Album

Old news but good summary of the Lost Tapes. Somebody just needs to ask Nas about the 2003 version. What was on that version? When we gonna get that?

The 2003 version is undoubtedly all Columbia material. We may never get that specific material as it seems like Nas likes the Lost Tapes to serve as an expression of his creative process from the most RECENT previous album
Recording sessions. So, if in theory, Nas has entire albums worth of songs with Timbaland, Swizz, and Salaam Remi; we’ll hear those joints on a LT before we hear joints that are almost TWENTY years old at this point

With Life Is Good, Def Jam sold the Deluxe version with a shirt. Album came in a nice box with a black life is good shirt. They did the same for Rick Ross's GFID. I bought the deluxe versions of both, but I didn't get the version of Ross's album that came with the shirt.
My Life is Good shirt was blue and orange:jbhmm:

Maybe it was a different package cuz it also had a notebook signed by NaS in silver sharpie:patrice:

I think those were the exclusives that came from Nas's official website. The notebook had rhymes from the album if I'm not mistaken.

That’s a damn shame because there are a lot of us who really wanted to hear more Nasty Nas. Over the years, some of those unreleased tracks may get out but I really believe that we won’t be getting too much from that Sony treasure trove.

Nas dropped Nasir around this time last year and now the Lost Tapes 2 this year. With another full studio album supposedly done, what do you think is best for Nas to do... drop the next album before the end of the year or drop the new studio album this time next year?

Lost Tapes 2 is the perfect palette cleanser to allow for a new Nas album. This was the strategy in 2002 and it was also to the strategy in 2011 before Def Jam fukked it up.

Lost Tapes 2 now and New album in December would perfect. Especially if its the album that him and Hip Hop Since 1978 were working on.

While I personally love Nasir, it wasn’t critically acclaimed, had a botched release (thanks Kanye for being an insane, scatterbrained, dikkhead) and was the only Nas album from the Def Jam era not to debut at number 1. Nas is now his own Boss running Mass Appeal. If he wants to make Mass Appeal a true powerhouse label then dropping two successful solo albums within the year would be a great way to begin earning clout within the industry. Not to say that the company HASN’T been putting in work. They’ve put out critically acclaimed work from Fashawn, Run The Jewels, and J.Dilla. They’ve also put out the Wu-Tang Documentary, Fresh Dressed, and Rapture. But on the music side, Nas’s album would undoubtedly be the highest profile release to date

I understand Nas is creative and has a lot of ideas that he wants to share through music, tv and even books but the God needs to put that shyt out.

There is the book that was supposed to come out.

There was the Street Dreams series.

All types of music.

I know he is busy but damn!

Nas with that verse on the Twilight joint. Did Twilight come before the Two Seater joint? Who did Twilight?

Also, Tick Tock. Did that Nas verse end up being on Mob Deep album? Did he use that verse anywhere else?

I wouldn't expect another Nas album for at least a year after LT2. December is typically a dead zone for album releases; very hard to get a release date unless you're a star. There are rumors Rihanna and Adele may be dropping this fall or winter, possibly November/December. Also rumors about new Kendrick in that time period. No way Nas or anyone else of note drops then lol.

I think this LT2 album will be what fans want and satisfy folks for a year. Then hopefully we get the re-worked Nas Album Done album next July or September. That's the dream, at least.
