Yeah, but that wasn't hot lol but I feel you

Nas had a run with Swizz, and some pretty bad/generic tracks in 2001, The General was one, and I think his on the 8 Mile SDTK was too. Just terrible beats and song concepts

I liked that one as well:pachaha:

Mainly because it was in heavy rotation late summer/fall of 2001 on mixtapes and Hip Hop radio shows and even a few clubs as one of those grimy street records. Granted I didnt think it was what Nas needed at the time but I was surprised a lot of people fukked with it on the streets. Was begging for a remix with Styles/Kiss. I think there was one with Fat Joe and the a new beat by Swizz which was:huhldup:

I dont think he did the 8 mile track not sure who that was, one of them Nyshiem Myrick/Chucky Thompson cats

Generally Im ok with Nas and Swizz but I know it can get a lot of hate. Top Down the OG version is probably their best collabo. Swizz has somewhat diversified so maybe the Nas records on LT 2 aren't so bad but Im not gonna lie, next to the RZA ones they are the tracks that make me the most nervous for the album

That all said Bath Salts/Street shyt (The collabo with X, Kiss and Hov) has the most generic Swizz beat and it seems like a banger:patrice:

As far as I'm concerned, "Nasty", "The Black Bond", "Roses" and "Where's the Love" ARE on the album. All this talk about replacing "Summer on Smash" with one or these "bonus tracks" makes no sense to me. I have only heard the 18-track deluxe version of Life is Good. When the album was about to drop they asked Nas how many songs are on the LP and he said "18 tracks". When asked which song fans should be excited about, he said "The Black Bond". He obviously considers the deluxe version to be the actual album.

2012 was one of the last years where major labels put a lot of effort into bonus track fukkery. GKMC came out the same year and you could get different tracks depending on if you got it at Best Buy or Target. I think a couple things killed bonus tracks. First the big success of Cole (FHD), Kendrick (TPAB), and Drake (every album during that era lol) really showed you don't need that shyt...people are going to buy the album, and the quality of the album matters to fans. The second thing, more recently: streaming. Labels are constantly putting out albums with 15-18 tracks. If LIG came out today, it would likely have all the tracks together as one album.

With Life Is Good, Def Jam sold the Deluxe version with a shirt. Album came in a nice box with a black life is good shirt. They did the same for Rick Ross's GFID. I bought the deluxe versions of both, but I didn't get the version of Ross's album that came with the shirt.

GOAT will come to STL on the 31st for his tour with Mary J. Would be :brutuswow: if he performs some of these songs during the show.
