With or without those tracks, LIG was a great album. It was some grown up shyt. We all know it inspired Jay Z to finally make a grown man album. Nas still taking his son to school. Lol.

Anyone think The Lost Tapes 2 tracks will leak? I don’t.
Couldnt give LIG props without shytting on Hov lol.

Remember when Best Buy and our circuit city would have exclusive bonus tracks on Nas albums? Hustlers and Killers came on a bonus disc For Nastradamus and Stillmatic had bonuses too. I used to always cop on the first day incase the change the release and take off a song like they did when they took braveheart party off of Stillmatic.

I need to know what Salaam Remi tracks warrant him being shytted on so much. Even if its “Zone Out” (felt out of place on the album but the beat is unique in a good way)

Remi is consistently solid, but rarely amazing. His beats feel workmanlike. He has done some good beats but I can think of many producers I'd rather hear Nas with first. This new album for example.

Lol. This is a Lost Tapes 2 thread and we’ve broken down all of Nas’ albums. Lol. Nice work! I actually got love for Illmatic to Stillmatic remixes. I wish Nas could release more original remixes.

As far as I'm concerned, "Nasty", "The Black Bond", "Roses" and "Where's the Love" ARE on the album. All this talk about replacing "Summer on Smash" with one or these "bonus tracks" makes no sense to me. I have only heard the 18-track deluxe version of Life is Good. When the album was about to drop they asked Nas how many songs are on the LP and he said "18 tracks". When asked which song fans should be excited about, he said "The Black Bond". He obviously considers the deluxe version to be the actual album.
black bond is a fukking movie,...
and the end is :wow: as the beat rides out!!

'back when' is my absolute fave on LIG though
and another song where the beat rides out at the end!!:wow:

He's been unfairly shyt on. I used to be unfair to him and didn't realize he'd done some of the beats that he did. I think he's also in the unenviable position of not quite as good as the producers most fans want to hear Nas over. If you think about it Illmatic was basically the first super-produced album. Once people heard Nas with Pete, Primo, Large Pro, Q-Tip, etc, that's what they wanted. And then in the 00's people wanted Nas to keep working with Alchemist and to start working with 9th Wonder. So a lot of what Remi did was just fine but there were always other producers that people wanted to hear more, and I think some people (me in the past for example) unfairly took that out on Remi.

It doesn't sound like that to me. Yeah, it has an orchestral sound, but so did other Salaam songs on LIG. It doesn't sound over produced.
Yeah the other Remi tracks have an orchestral sound, but they either carry that classic Nas street appeal like Queens Story or that smooth jazzy feel.

World’s An Addiction musically is an anomaly amongst Nas’ work. Not to say it’s a bad song

The music for the World’s am Addiction is an interpolation/sample of a 5th dimension record that I sampled a long time ago. I’m cool with the track. The rhymes were dope and Nas snapped on it.

That song disturbs the flow of the album as does "The Don" (not a bad song), but the transition into it is off. Removing "The Don" and "Summer On Smash" and replacing them with "Trust", "Where's The Love" or "Roses" makes it flow smoother.

Agreed but I like The Don

1 of my main issues with that album is the sequencing of the songs in the middle of the album....

World is an addiction going on to Summer on Smash doesn’t make any sense

Best Buy had a digital download for Where Ya’ll At when you purchased Hip Hop Is Dead...
