Life Is Good definitely aged well, as well as just growing older, and appreciating it more, as I was 26 when in 2012. Not a perfect album, but the low points are marginal, and the high points are graceful, poignant, timeless. Songs like

Stay
Queens Story
Where's The Love
Trust
Back When
Black Bond
Reach Out

are classic Nas, or close to it. Even Cherry Wine sounds great today, along with Bye Baby, it's just soulful music. The Don and Summer On Smash, Accident Murderers are weaker, and I am mixed on World's An Addiction, it is a little hamfisted, but when Nas goes dark, and his flow sounds so good, it's hard not to like it.

not a big Salaam Remi fan but give him a break beat and Nas gonna snap. Speaking of which, hopefully we hear this one day...

:blessed:

I been wanting an MP3 rip of that for the longest to add to my unreleased files. It’s reminds me Of a question that I’ve been wanting to post for a while now.

How do you guys feel about getting unreleased music from Nas where he has recorded full or partial verses that have already been used on his officially released music, like the rhymes from the Salaam Remi snippet above? Thoughts?

I personally don’t mind, in fact I welcome it. To me, the beat makes the song different and as you can see with salaam track having an entirely different vibe and feel than the DR songs that these rhymes eventually went to. Tracks like this and the Timbalan snippet we heard that has the rhymes for echo probably would double Nas unreleased catalog.

I know people were saying that "World's An Addiction" was a low point on Life Is Good, but I always liked that song. People say it's over the top, but it reminds me of "What Goes Around". Even though, its drumless, Anthony Hamilton does his thing and Nas kills it.

whoever thinks that needs their ears checked:why:

People front like it was som3 laffy taffy shyt, it was a cool commercial track.

Come on man, that song is terrible. The mix of Swizz's hook and Miguel's weird "life is good, life is good" thing is so weird. Swizz is extremely hit and miss on hooks. It's either gonna be a hit or an abortion, and he straight up ruined this track. Nas' verses are ok, beat is ok. The hook should have been some version of the outro where Miguel is crooning in Spanish. That shyt sounds like an actual hook lol. Why is he even on the track if he's not going to do his thing. Just a bad song..

It’s a cool radio track far from wack. Miguel verse/Bridge was fine. Beat is fine. I think people hate Swizz voice but the track isn’t as bad as how some portray it. Jay could do the exact same track with no criticism.

Jay gets his criticism. Look no further than the MCHG thread.

Yeah. I just hated Swizz on the hook. Take him off and I’m good with the rest.
