How embarrassing.
You release your album in your own hood and your own community walks out.
Come on Nas do better.
Pusha had the album of the year.
Yall killed me last week when i said how he needs to go to rehab for that alcohol addiction after that TMZ clip and yall claimed i'm exaggerating and that he was just in Vegas having fun
Now the same people who said that to me are saying that he sounds drunk and uninspired
The issue with Nas is he has no motivation now. I don't think its a question of Kanye overproducing or singing, this is on Nas himself.
Don't forget Nas is a reactionary artist as most musicians are. Part of Life Is Good's greatness was the fact Nas was emotionally putting on paper his feelings about his daughter and the issues he was having with her, his ex wife, his child support, his tax issues and having to work his ass off to get more money, in addition to what the blogs was saying about his daughter and him as a parent and whether he was good or not.
On this project he had nothing to really talk about. I think even the biggest Nas fan in here can admit the Reagan line and other lines in the first song were forced as hell.
Remember this Tweet:
Bottom line artists work better when they have motivation. Especially when they are vets like Nas who have had their foot in the game for a minute.
Some people are Van Gogh to dopeness
He booked that show months ago clownI thought it was a photoshop, but its not.
This is where you choose to do a concert for your long awaited album?
A album where you collaborated with Ye?
And nikkas saying he's on the same level as Jay.
Nas has music he's gonna drop after this. This is his Def Jam fulfillment album.Underwhelming and just way too short a project. 6 years and this is all we get. And fuc Kanye, disgusts me to even listen to anything that guy is associated with. Smh.
I'm black. I'm just objective. We lost Mike Brown, Freddie Gray, elders in the Charleston Church, brotha in NYC, and etc etc under the last president. We've been getting taken out by race soldiers under a black president and now a white ws president. I was just as outraged under Obama as I am under Trump. But I forgot, "Obama can only do much as the president"....that's was y'all favorite excuse.Very obvious but effective troll call yourself Atlanta but be white i give you and @Paradise50 props youve been able to pretend to be Black for years and got away with it.
Well said and all facts. Bloggers are hella salty to this day Nas never let them into his orbit. Go look at Elliott's last IG posts. Dude stopped posting about Nas soon as he got the bat signal from Jay. Cornballs stay exposing themselvesNas himself has said hes the most crucified artist in the game so he is well aware of his critics.
If you ask me its because for so many years Nas didn’t play the “game” and he also had no problems letting certain people known how he felt about them if he was pissed off. Remember back when Hot 97 was THE hotbed of the culture Nas shytted on both Flex and Angie in the WORST way.
He dissed straight up dismissed Angie trying to be an artist and told the world that Flex was a corny hanger on. He called Cam’ron’s album wack. He told Beanie Sigel that he needed a stern talking to and a handshake. He refused to work with Jay on Reasonable Doubt or Volume 1 while Jay was giving him props and calling him one of the best MC’s. He had friendly competition with Biggie. He straight up dissed Puff. He dissed Nore. He dissed Prodigy. He dissed 50 Cent. He posed on the cover of XXL holding a burning Source cover.
Nas wasn’t in the business to make friends lol. His only true aliances were Jungle and The Bravehearts (and sometimes Mobb Deep) he came and went as he pleased. He didn’t allow so called Hip Hop purists to dictate his sound and made bigger, commercially succesful projects, while STILL retaining a lowkey demeanor.
Nas wasn’t gonna make a yuppie nikka like Elliot Wilson feel special. He wasn’t going to give him special access or exclusive interviews or play the “game” like Jay and others did. He let the music speak for itself. Hell i remember when Hot 97 was suppsedly blacklisting Nas music and STILL was forced to play Made You Look because it was buzzing so hard.
