Maybe its the Stan in me. But i don’t hear this supposed issue with the flow on the album. I mean if it were like the first two verses of that Future collab he put out a few months ago i could see the argument.

But Nas was rapping his ASS off on this Nasir joint. His flow on Bonjour and Adam & Eve was perfection

He was off from time to time on the album.

Senegal's finest, minerals, diamonds
The earth is cursed but I survive many climates
Calm and thoroughly, they try to Hyman Roth me
John Fitzgerald me, the industry never bought me
(You know God sent me here)
Fear will make you reveal who you really are
Feel me God? Be solid, your foes hold you in ill regard
This ain't knowledge, this is not intense
For honored men, women too
Us who can see the same thing, but have a different view (let's go)

Come through the side entrance; I arrive, bytches
Crackheads still owe me from '89 fixes (bonjour)
Havin' drinks in Vegas, my business
She didn't see me comin', now she's an eyewitness
Laissez le bon temps rouler
Say ahh so the kids could play:lolbron:

Vacay share twisted
Whatever happened missed it
Vacations I didn't like, put myself through a guilt trip (bonjour)

Everybody knows the 2nd verse but the 1st verse....:wow:

When the media slings mud, we use it to build huts
Irrefutable facts, merciful, beautiful black
Beloved brother, you fail to embarrass him, harassin' him

To my life, your life pales in comparison
So go write whatever blog, messiness is not ever the god
Do what's necessary, I'm never worried
Listen vultures, I've been shackled by Western culture
You convinced most of my people to live off emotion

That's why we competin'
Death by the chrome barrel, forgot the secrets
My Kilimanjaro bone marrow's the deepest
You can peep at the comments, but don't fall for that
We want freedom, I'm a scholar, an almanac
People do anything to be involved in everything
Inclusion is a hell of a drug

Some people have everything they probably ever wanted in life
And never have enough

The ghosts of gangsters dance
Chinchillas shake on the hanger, the force of this banger

Yeah, my language advanced, my cadence amazin'
The voice triggers somethin', what is this conundrum?
The clouds scurry, your spirit rumble, a boyish smile

I'm lookin' in Longevity's eyes
I play with Infinity's mind, Forever's my guy
My pedigree above your ass, you'll never see I
I love the past, but see, where I'm goin' I get to fly

shyt crazy:wow:
Shout out to my Home Country on the very first ryhme.:blessed:

Nas was out of pocket on NY STATE OF MIND.

PREMIER purposefully left in Nas saying "I don't know how to start this" because he said he'd never seen anyone catch the beat in a way Nas did.

He's always had that Jazz thing where he rhymes over unorthodox beats but also rhymes in unorthodox ways.

I'm def not saying Nas never sounds lazy, but like @Ziggiy said that's not what I'm hearing on this album. He has that Ghostface thing going where he's an experienced Mc who sounds comfortable as fukk and steps it up/down when HE feels like it.

He has a line like "I don't buy beats I sell verses" or sth, I feel like he's alluding to this critique niccaz have on him. Again it's also why I said a few pages back he's one of the rapdaddies of the slowflow crew (Roc Marci/Ka/Meyhem..).

Truth Bro.

People are so used to wack flow that they cannot recognize excellence.
Rakim also has a jazzy flow.

Now people don't know the art, the science, the craft of rapping anymore.

If you can't hear when his flow breaks then you're not listening. Listen to Purple then listen to any track of this album.

Rakim never sounded awkward like Nas does here on some tracks.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Apparently the flow critique is a thing...

Nas' flow has always been 'jazzy' .
The first verse on 'Nas Is like' is very unorthodox structure/flow wise. It almost doesnt make sense but it sounds good to me.

:yeshrug:

His flow on this album is better than I thought it would be honestly. An example of him not flowing in the pocket is Bye Baby off LIG.

after umpteen listens................sadly...shyt is kind of mid.

i like the beats some just don't fit Nas or Nas doesn't have it in him to smoothly manoeuvre through them now.
how Nas would sound was my biggest fear but Mike Dean etc did a good job of cleaning him up.
outside a couple verses the bars are pretty eh for a Nas album...in a weird way some joints sound like he's doing an impression of himself*

that said, its not bad...its not great....its just kind of forgettable and no Nas album should be that.

not what you want when you've been waiting on something for a couple years
(i would've been good if he retired after LIG dropped but after Nas Album Done i was waiting to see what we'd get)

i'm surprised just how much the album is getting slaughtered though.

*the people that got duped by Your Old Droog will prolly love Nas mailed in bars on here.

So you can’t criticize Em for having a whole shakey catalogue but throw subs at Jay or Nas :stopitslime: this dude done flopped from the fake deathrow to the fake 4 Horsemen :lolbron: Do Crooked have a true album?
