East Side!
EXACTLY.

I LOVE songs like No Phony Love and Brunch On Sundays. These are what makes Nas a transcendent artist. ONLY Nas can do a song like Who Killed It. Or two part stories like Undying Love/Amongst Kings or Sekou Story/Live Now. ONLY Nas can tell a whole story from beginning to end in ONE verse like Still Dreamin. Nas is the fukking GOAT

One of his most underrated one verse stories is When Thugs Die…the second verse and the illest part is that the third verse is actually another story that is connected to the second verse

I think nas is better lyrically on magic tho. Like the punchlines are more in abundance. You can sense more his hunger on this. But overall kd2 is my favorite project too since it's well rounded

I like the grown man nas. It started on God's son and really blossom on streets disciple on songs like no one else in the room. So I don't mind theses tracks, it's like I can light a cigar and let it play.
I think that's what separate nas from az. That capacity to vary his subject matter, production and flow

And LIG started middle age Nas lol. The whole album you just sip some whiskey and light a cigar too.

I loved LIG from the begining but I appreciate it even more as I entered my 40’s the past 2 years

*The knock on Nas is that he picks bad beats*
That's becoming the opening bar for all media

If Nas picks bad beats, who made those classic records n albums?

Why is it that a guy that picks bad beats can go song for song with any rapper in the history of the genre?

A guy lasts 30yrs picking bad beats. Who does that sound logical to?

There must be Two Nasirs'

Bro it pains them to give him his proper credit.. Like even on these favorable reviews there's still some slick talk in them. Like one review for Magic the dude gave him a 9/10 but said something along the lines of it's just raw spitting up here no Cryptocurrency bars Lol Smh I'm like got Damn they even mad that he's getting a bag!

I wouldn’t be surprised but I took it as a chin check to the industry at large. Too many people been making flimsy cases for Hov as the GOAT throughout the years. Even the recent lists by T.I., Ebro, and Flex have Nas under artists that don’t have as much rightful claim as him (T.I. had him at 8 under Eminem, Drake, Kanye, and Snoop:gucci:) Flex had him at 3 under Jay and Andre 3000:comeon:) and Ebro had him at 3 behind Hov and Big.

I think Nas just reminding everyone who the Prophet is
I wouldn't peg Flex for a Dray 3K dikk eater, learn something new everyday

I definitely play this album more than I remember playing kd1 and 2. Something about it makes me feel like I'm back on high school n shyt.
Honestly had a lot of low mental moments and been in bad headspaces on and off the last 2-3 weeks, but taking a light edible, drinking water getting some fruit and playing Speechless gets me motivated. The story arc, instrumental crescendo on the hook, and the line and the last hook "The bounce back, the greatest feeling when they thought that you was finished", puts what I gotta get done in focus, so I can leave em speechless in my own right.

Nas is my GOAT on an objective catalogue/skill/versatility/content plane, but also on a relatability/personal connection level. He's got tracks sitting in my library for all moods. When I'm running through em (Replace Me), when I'm taking inventory (The Rise & Fall), when life is on some bs (Life's Gone Low), when I'm reevaluating life, particularly at night (Still Dreaming). I can go on. I didn't have my bread right last time he was in my neck of the woods, but next time he's out here I gotta see him, and if it's made available I need some Magic gear.

Whenever I see the "must be two" I always think of Kendrick's feature on Perfect Pint with Mike Will Made It, Rae Sremmurd, and Gucci

"This rap shyt crazy need to woosah, :ahh:
You from Compton? :dwillhuh: Must be two siddddddddeeeeees :heh:"
