Magic is Nas best album since "Stillmatic"...definitely. It's not his most introspective or socially conscious or heartfelt, etc... it just has the most bumpin collection of songs on it since Stillmatic...shyt is madd playable. Top 5 in the catalog, it will age well too. Only acceptable critique is that it's too short.

I was just relistening to Doe Or Die 2 because the Deluxe released today and GODDAMN Both Nas and AZ rapping at intensely high levels to be 50 year olds. I love that we’re in the era where elder statesmen of the genre can get proper recognition for their newer work.

I wish the pandemic wasn’t scouring the earth because i’d LOVE to attend a Nas show this year. The man has THREE ALBUMS of fresh material he can perform

All this about Gibbs but i like it when Nas is aggressive which is why Magic is my favorite. If Gibbs brings aggression outta Nas it’ll be good. I don’t think it’ll turn into all-out beef.

All of Nas’ greatest albums to me are when he’s heated or under pressure. Illmatic, IWW, Stillmatic, God Son.

the one benefit of COVID is not sure we would have had this run from Nas without it. Life slowing down seemed to get Nas back in his music zone according to one interview from him

Yea its definitely a double edged sword but i was speaking more of right now than in the beginning. Omicron still tearing its way across the US and a lot of shows and tours are getting cancelled. The Fugees just cancelled their reunion tour which I was looking forward to and Nas hasn’t announced any tour and hasn’t been on tour since 2018.

I wouldn’t be surprised but I took it as a chin check to the industry at large. Too many people been making flimsy cases for Hov as the GOAT throughout the years. Even the recent lists by T.I., Ebro, and Flex have Nas under artists that don’t have as much rightful claim as him (T.I. had him at 8 under Eminem, Drake, Kanye, and Snoop:gucci:) Flex had him at 3 under Jay and Andre 3000:comeon:) and Ebro had him at 3 behind Hov and Big.

I think Nas just reminding everyone who the Prophet is
I felt like there might be friction. what happened to the Cordae song with all of them?
