Y'all really do care about journalists & media outlets opinions about this album huh
fukk them & fukk that meta critic score
Just enjoy the album
It's not that important but what it does do, is create false narratives that people run with until it becomes almost the truth. If the bad reviews were by unbiased critics it wouldn't be so bad but once you look deeper into the reviewer and see who they're stanning and holding up/claiming to be great, you just gotta hit these folks with the
Me personally no I haven't stopped listening since it dropped. I just find all the mediagoing on
I agree but most of these people are low key doing it to get reactions from Nas fans (I've followed Nas closely from 2002 & this has always been a thing), especially that wack ass Peter Rosenberg....who i wouldn't be surprised if he runs with this on his next podcast, youtube or radio or what ever he does.
It's just best to give these wack ass CAC's no time of the day & keep it moving, it is what it is though
Critics that can't take criticism
Gotta love it
I mean, Duke is right and after reading the article I'm even more convinced. The entire thesis of the article is its stupid for fans to expect an Illmatic 2 and how the media and record company landscape does artists no favors when it comes to meeting expectations. And as much as some of you guys never want to admit it, a good chunk of Nas' creative decisions since 1997 were stumbles. Sure, some forced upon him but nonetheless, stumbles. Some of yall don't even want it acknowledged that he had a bit of a slumpThis is all u need to see to know that the article he wrote was disingenuous..

And the fact that he goes to on to praise the album for the fact that Nas just does his thing and sounds reinvigorated and STILL got a negative response just proves his point.
The reality is that these journalists don't respect rap as an artist platform. Certain rappers like Nas, Cube, Snoop, and even Em aren't allowed to grow and make different music outside the 90s they make. Some of y'all are the same way. Wanting Nas to work with Pete Rock and 9th Wonder, dudes to disrespect Nas at every turn, just so y'all can feel that 90s era. Well Nas/HitBoy just make a modern boombap classic and nikkas didn't even support. So fukk you Stans too
