This is all u need to see to know that the article he wrote was disingenuous..
I think it’ll be aggressive. Nas getting really really comfortable with speaking his mind. KD1 was restrained and smooth. KD2 was more upbeat and Nas opened up more about himself. Magic is a victory lap with Nas just talking his shyt. I think KD3 he’ll be real aggressive. He’ll let loose and spread his mind.I'm trying to picture how KD3 will sound and I have a feeling this is going to be epic.
Well yea but I’m talking about different kinda shyt like the extremely creative concept shyt Nas is known for.
Yea no doubt. To me that's the illest thing about Magic. Nas really isn't going into his storytelling bag, conceptual bag, nostalgic bag, etc. A lot of the dope stuff Nas is known for. He didn't even call in the crazy features like he could have. Yet it's still this incredible album.
Nas didn’t even put the album on his store for purchase I’m pretty sure the sales would’ve atleast been double if he did that cause that’s where a lot of his sales come from.So "Magic" came in #27 on the Billboard 200 and #11 on the R&B/Hip Hop Charts. It also came in Top 5 on the Rap Albums Charts. Mind you this is his 2nd LP of the year as KD II did very well on the charts. Considering the Christmas Eve release and it being a surprise. I'm cool with these numbers. Also no videos as well, he lowkey released it like the original "Lost Tapes" with minimal promo so it was really about the music (Though I'm hoping for at least one video). The only thing is sadly this ends an incredible streak by NaS. He's released 16 Albums inside the Top 12 on the Billboard 200. This is the first album to come outside of that since QB's finest (Which was a compilation). He's also released 18 albums (Including QB's finest) inside the Top 10 of the R&B/Hip Hop Charts (Jay Z has 20 inside the Top 10 on this chart). "Magic" coming in at #11 on that chart misses the steak by 1. But again came out of nowhere also NaS is still moving units since 94. I'm cool with the project and been bumping it non stop the last few weeks. We had a big snow storm on the East Coast and this is just a great cold weather album. "Ugly" has really moved up my list. Beautiful record. Why does 40-16 Building sound like some Premo without the scratches. Maybe because it has that "2nd Childhood" "Nas, Nas" scratch in there. Hard song.
Most underrated gem in Nas catalogue I've been saying this since LT1 dropped
You should live, there's only one life, that's the physical
Rich or poor or in jail, why the fukk should you be miserable?
Things happen for reasons, the clock keeps tickin'
Love could have your heartbeat skippin', thugs turn to religion
The bytch you love could start to hate you
The shyt you used to do escape you
Things that make you laugh represent the past
Reminisce the block, gamble Gs on the floor
nikkas use to be the man, you don't see 'em no more
Your favorite restaurants and favorite stores, they tore 'em down
Turned 'em into shopping malls, the hood is like a ghost town
Haunted by souls who thought that time stood still
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real
Pure fukking poetry
Me personally no I haven't stopped listening since it dropped. I just find all the mediaY'all really do care about journalists & media outlets opinions about this album huh
fukk them & fukk that meta critic score
Just enjoy the album
this isn’t the flex he thinks it is
No argument from me shyt like No Ideas Original is one long ass quotableThere a lot of potent heavy verses on Lost Tapes. My favorite Nas album hands down.
