You know what else would be great if we as Nas fans stop comparing him to the very person we feel the media shows favor to in contrast to Nas. We as fans need to rewrite the narrative instead of catering to the old narrative. We do Nas no favors by continue to pair him with another when his art stands strong alone. Nas doesn’t need to be compared bc there is NO COMPARISON AT ALL! He came into this game as THE GOLDEN CHILD!
It’s to point out the bias and it’s very relevant because of the arguments that have been presented by the same people. Half the time one of these reviewers or media people try to shyt on Nas. They bring Jay up. The shyt ain’t coming out of nowhere. I love Jay and it’s more about the industry than him directly.

Son. No. My guy hasn’t worked with Just Blaze since Kingdom Come. Have u heard people say anything? Nas has worked with Premo on like 5 albums. Large Pro on like 3 albums. LES on like 7 albums. And that’s not including Havoc, Timbaland, Dame Grease, Neptunes, Salaam Remi, Swizz Beatz, No ID, Alchemist, Hit Boy, Statik Selektah, RZA, Pete Rock, Kanye West, Trackmasters, and the list goes on and on. Jay and Nas have worked with many of the same producers fam. It’s nowhere near been the same shyt. No fukkin way.

It has been especially on MCHG where people were asking where's Kanye?

I am well aware that Jay and Nas have worked with the same producers, but it's not the same. You missed the part where I said multiple albums and on those multiple albums there have been multiple tracks with big name producers and most of them were singles. When Nas works with those same producers, it's only for one track and that one track isn't a single. Lost Tapes 2 was liked the most stacked Nas project with an all star production line up since Illmatic.

My guy. No. Going by ur logic. nikkas would’ve hated on Jay by Vol.2. Like goal posts have to specifically be moved just to try to make this argument when the criticism hasn’t been remotely the same. Not at all. Jay has had hit records with a million different producers with no issue whatsoever. I really don’t even wanna argue about cause it’s disingenuous. No one is gonna try to argue some shyt I lived thru. Might as well argue that the sky is red and not blue because I’m never gonna agree with the take ur presenting. Lol. U my guy but this may as well stop right here. U not gonna convince me. Lol

No she is not apart of his legacy and neither is Jay. Nas legacy is built of of his own talent and longevity. Haters only try to use these two to slight Nas. No one with good sense would label them as a part of his legacy. Nas legacy is built from his own God given merit/talent.

Unfortunately this is common with these hack writers--if you read a review on say the Red Hot Chili Peppers it is almost guaranteed to talk about them performing with only socks on their junk, or if it's Ozzy Osbourne they'll talk about the fukking bat he took a bite out of. Granted, those are notable incidents that are tough to live down, but they also happened in the 80s. These hacks just can't help themselves. So Jay-Z and Kelis are always going to be mentioned for Nas along with trying to live up to Illmatic.

BTW I sent an email to Nas's store to ask if we would get CDs, vinyl, or merchandise and they sent back a form reply just saying "we don't have old merchandise for sale, just what you see on the site." So that got us nowhere.

I think the point you are missing is that all Nas career there has been a small but very vocal group of illmatic fans saying Nas needs to work with illmatic producers only and make an illmatic part 2. Nobody has ever said Jay needs to work with the RD team to make a RD2.

Nas directly address these people on Stillmatic, and album that actually featured 3 of the 5 illmatic producers, but they still on the dumb shyt.

I will slightly disagree on one: Just Blaze. Hov fans have definitely talked about it, and it's an actual thing. There's some type of issue between Jay and Just Blaze. 9th and Guru have lightly touched on it before.

I mean. That’s cool. But Jay isn’t defined by it. These nikkas have tried to define Nas’ entire career by his Illmatic producers. This is some Jay has simply never dealt with on that scale. There’s really no way around it. I’m not saying inquiries aren’t made. But Nas literally gets defined by it.
