Honestly the hell with their rating. Nas ratings come from his true fans. Y’all are the reason he continues to put out content. Nas does this for the love of it and to show his appreciation to hip hop and the fans that changed his life.

I agree that reviews, awards, and things like that don’t truly “matter”. I’m not swayed by reviews myself. But I DO understand that stuff like reviews and awards help with a project’s visibility and therefore the artist’s continued ability to have access to the higher echelon of producers, engineers, television channels, movie placements, etc.

For instance, people always ask me whenever I create the Grammys thread every year “Why do you care? fukk the Grammys!” And of course i’d be inclined to agree. But when Nas won last year, Kings Disease IMMEDIATELY shot back to number 1 on Apple Music for a few days. Thats extra listeners, extra streams, and extra sales. It also helped raise the profile of the engineer who mixed the album, the bass player who played on All Bad, the young lady who created the album art, etc.

As a fan I want to see Nas get what he DESERVES. I will purchase a Nas album if it scored a zero on Metacritic, I don’t give a fukk. But Nas DESERVES better for the work he puts into his art. And as fans its up to us to call out the bullshyt when we see it. ESPECIALLY when its as egregious as it has been the past couple of years.

I think most reviews will come from video commentary. People don't take the time and effort to write anything nowadays. That's why I'm fine with the RS article even with the typical low blows. Bottom line was made clear and that Nas is making great music today.

Nas has been in the business for decades, has reached high levels success and is friends with people more influential than HHDX or RS so these publications not rating his music will not prevent him from being noticed in the mainstream bc as you said his fans will make sure of that and so will his team. Trust Nas will be noticed.

I would take the hypercritical over-analysis of Nas music and career from these media outlets more seriously if they weren't handing out rave reviews to shyt like Lil Nas X and Meghan thee Stallion.
Keep preaching this fact to those in the back that don’t see or in agreement with the bullshyt. You said more than a mouthful. The shyt is disgusting.

The guy who writes the article is a breh on Twitter, maybe someone can ask why it wasn’t an official review?
