Truth second verse incredible. First time I heard it kept thinking when he’s going to slow the pace down and he just kept blacking out all way up to the laundromat line. No let up.

Not saying it’s that level but like on Memory Lane where he just keeps spitting.

No. That was a request. What’s happening with Nas is MUCH different.

It's not much difference. The only difference is that Jay Z was able to connect with other elite or big name producers and Premo wasn't really missed.

With Nas, we don't have albums that have production lineups that feature multiple tracks from Dr. Dre, Timbaland, The Neptunes, Just Blaze, and Kanye. I've spoken on it before, but because Nas has production helped by Salaam, L.E.S., Chucky Thompson, whose work isn't as known or revered as the others, it made Nas an easy target even though he has multiple classics with those producers.

Still, Jay Z got hit with "Where's the Premo track", which prompted him to respond in a way that downplayed Premo. People were livid when the production line up for The Black Album leaked and there was no Premo track as promoted.

My fav track off LT1
Most underrated gem in Nas catalogue I've been saying this since LT1 dropped

You should live, there's only one life, that's the physical
Rich or poor or in jail, why the fukk should you be miserable?
Things happen for reasons, the clock keeps tickin'
Love could have your heartbeat skippin', thugs turn to religion
The bytch you love could start to hate you
The shyt you used to do escape you

Things that make you laugh represent the past
Reminisce the block, gamble Gs on the floor
nikkas use to be the man, you don't see 'em no more
Your favorite restaurants and favorite stores, they tore 'em down
Turned 'em into shopping malls, the hood is like a ghost town
Haunted by souls who thought that time stood still
Just live your life to the fullest, never look back, it's real

Pure fukking poetry:wow::wow:

Every Nas album released on a major label has been reviewed by Rolling Stone, even The Lost Tapes 1 & 2. I don’t believe it’s coincidental that KD2 and Magic (as of this posting) haven’t been reviewed. They KNOW the music is excellent, and so they skirt AROUND it by putting out articles and press releases talking about Nas’s legacy & album sales, WITHOUT actually reviewing the damn albums. Hip Hop DX is on that bullshyt too and its becoming disgustingly obvious.

They might as well not have even written anything about Magic if they were just going to write this think piece.

You know what else would be great if we as Nas fans stop comparing him to the very person we feel the media shows favor to in contrast to Nas. We as fans need to rewrite the narrative instead of catering to the old narrative. We do Nas no favors by continue to pair him with another when his art stands strong alone. Nas doesn’t need to be compared bc there is NO COMPARISON AT ALL! He came into this game as THE GOLDEN CHILD!

This.

Nas is GOAT on his merits without ever having to compare him. He's the rubric for which great MC's are measured by. At this point, Nas as an MC is in a sphere of his own.

That's what they and their followers want...no dis to Hov because I'm a fan of his as well but they do sneaky things to keep that conversation going, and I'm peeping that shyt now. And it's easy to chime in because it gets under your skin, especially when they're blatant Hov stans.

Just appreciate the greatness instead of getting mad at bad reviews, or them dismissing Nas... including the guys that run in this thread and do the same thing. The moment we stop caring is the moment they don't matter.

Son. No. My guy hasn’t worked with Just Blaze since Kingdom Come. Have u heard people say anything? Nas has worked with Premo on like 5 albums. Large Pro on like 3 albums. LES on like 7 albums. And that’s not including Havoc, Timbaland, Dame Grease, Neptunes, Salaam Remi, Swizz Beatz, No ID, Alchemist, Hit Boy, Statik Selektah, RZA, Pete Rock, Kanye West, Trackmasters, and the list goes on and on. Jay and Nas have worked with many of the same producers fam. It’s nowhere near been the same shyt. No fukkin way.
